Except you pay interest on the loan, which is then factored into PSR. Most clubs do this because their owners aren’t willing to push a nine figure sum into the club. Which is fine, provided you don’t have a supporter base which thinks your owners want to chuck billions at the club if it wasn’t for those pesky PSR kids

It’s all of Europe, not just the PL clubs, who have adopted these rules. Literally thousands of clubs have voted them in - which is why they’re going nowhere.

Because we’re not in compliance with UEFA’s PSR rules - in fact we’re well short. Fun part is that the PL will be adopting the same rules over the coming seasons.

There’s no clever way around it - Vlachodimos’s transfer fee will be amortised every year he is with us. Yes, Anderson was sold for huge profit that year and it was a PSR workaround - but that profit was on the books two seasons ago, and the problem is that we’re now stuck with an expensive, shite player on the books, given that the accountants will have to amortise his fee at a rate of £4m per season.
