  1. Isak was causing them real problems as well. They were shitting their pants when he was near the ball
  2. Dancing on Ice’s Channel 5 knock-off doesn’t sound like a ratings winner
  3. I’ve always had that fucking irritating habit of getting increasingly confident as KO approaches.
  4. Massive KK blind spot. Never quite seemed to get that a good keeper can win you almost as many points as a top centre forward. We win a trophy with KK with a better GK. I always felt the GK KK should have went for was Nigel Martyn (Seaman and Flowers were already at big clubs). Instead we paid over £1.5m for Shaka in 1995 (Martyn went to Leeds for £2.25m in 1996). Edit: tbf KK did almost sign Brad Friedel but that was snookered by a work permit issue
  5. He’s not gay. In fact, he can honestly say that he’s never come over a little queer
  6. Of course, and I was partially tongue-in-cheek, though I was partially serious too. The punditry brigade don’t half like to go on about ethics within the game - ‘[player X] should be doing this, or [player Y] hasn’t been acting correctly, all while having no discernible moral code of their own
  7. I always loved that he never recused himself from the Ashley conversation, despite having an obvious conflict of interest re business connections.
  8. I’m with you tbh - I would’ve been perfectly happy to see him go, I wrote on here last summer that I was surprised we weren’t cashing in while you would still get decent money for him, particularly for FFP purposes. I don’t get upset by the club selling players - I’m not sentimental about it, especially if it is absolutely in the club’s interests. But there are plenty who assume we can just offload to KSA if we get in these situations - the player has to agree to go there. Most players won’t regardless of the money on offer - a billion wasn’t enough to attract Mbappe
  9. If the Almiron rumours were true, it should remind folks that the KSA route isn’t a Champ Man cheat. The player does actually have to agree to go and live in a country where most would rather not
  10. We literally have won matches since Bruno signed in which he didn’t play - and last I checked he was playing in the matches when we became addicted to losing, too
  11. All those forward options, yet I bet Southgate still manages to bore every fucker to death with his negative approach
  12. We already did - in 1999 … Tell Saha, Saha, he won’t be home for tea, he’s going to Wembley, tell Saha, Saha Fond memories of that night with a big group of mates going down to Blackburn
  13. Yeah, they were right in the middle of that form that won them the league - they started to fall apart around Easter, but Man Utd didn’t quite have enough to catch them (they would have if Andy Cole had scored any one of about ten chances at West Ham on the last day). That Everton QF is burned into my brain as possibly the most disappointing day following NUFC. We just did not turn up against a shite Everton side who went on to win it.
  14. The point is you talk the talk, but do not walk the walk, vis-a-vis you've not stood behind your post
  15. That 2-1 in 95 was fucking great. Hardest away tie possible after drawing at SJP. It’s the only season I’ve experienced where I was absolutely convinced we’d win the cup - before that shite QF at Goodison.
