  1. No-one in football takes pundits and journalists seriously, and even fewer take football hipsters seriously. I doubt Bournemouth’s squad are listening to a bunch of broadsheet hacks yammering on pretentiously about football.

    England

That team would be a solid PL outfit tbf.
  3. I fucking HATE the whistles before the end mind. Seeing a old man doing it somehow pissed me off even more They’ve been doing it for decades now, and it needs knocking on the head. I can’t see how it does anything but make the players and crowd anxious.

I’d have Watkins and Wilson in there tbf - once Toney returns it’ll be a real fight for a Euros place. Kane is a given, of course.
  5. I like being hated by Arsenal and Liverpool and Man Utd, etc etc. You only get like this about rivals. They’re taking us seriously - and so they should.
  6. I honestly don’t give two shites about the smoggies mind. Have never looked for their results. It would be good for them to have a proper rivalry - I’m sure the Mackems and them will be very happy together
  7. There are other examples of a similar nature - Aston Villa’s main rivals used to be West Brom (and vice versa), but once WBA started spending long spells in the lower leagues they became rivals with Wolves instead (who also had spent most of their history in the top flight until relatively recently - mid-70s for WBA, early 80s for Wolves). It does happen
  8. Yep, you’re absolutely right - but the two clubs have no links beyond being in the same league. I’m willing to bet the PL will go down the ‘related party’ line - I’d also bet that this route is either closed or made tougher before January
  9. Again, it’s an international feed that he speaks on, but he usually states that he’s spoken to directly. Remember that the international feed comes direct from the Premier League itself - he’s not talking on Sky - hence why his comments on are the official PL website. Unless of course the PL is looking to contradict and lie about the officials it uses, like.
  10. Dermot Gallagher is saying on the PL website that they didn’t have the camera angle to chalk it off https://www.premierleague.com/news/3768927
  11. Ok - I’ll have to take your word for it. I get the international broadcast, and they’ve said it on there that we can see the same as they’re seeing; but that may not be true
  12. We get to see the VAR officials playing with the feed. Rewinding it etc.
  13. Tbf, they acknowledge it’s in play and not offside - it’s the push that’s contentious
  14. There’s no secret VAR cameras. The feed can be seen by the broadcasters. BeIN has confirmed it was in using their own 3D modelling software, though.
  15. It’s pathetic when you see people reach for corruption when it’s incompetence at worst. Funniest thing is that the only part of the goal which was genuinely contentious was the shove, and I’ve seen loads of those go either way. They’ve hardly been robbed.
  16. Looks like he’s playing an interesting game of charades with his knackered left arm. Air oboe playing
  17. I reckon if the ref blows for a foul by Joelinton the decision isn’t overturned. Ball was likely in play, and it definitely isn’t offside - but I wouldn’t have argued too much re Joelinton fouling the defender. But I’m sure the entitled Arsenal brigade on Twitter are also furious re the lack of a red for Havertz
  18. I do look for their result, but I’m fucked if I’d watch one of their games. I’m amazed at how many of them watch us these days - they’re gluttons for self-punishment. It must be like having a chilli enema
  19. No, you’re definitely right - I was confirming that (my wording wasn’t great)
  20. They do, mind. Some teams that finish runners up become better known than the winners.
  21. Still fun to do post match analysis I used to do it in the Three Bulls post match, these days it’s sat on the internet at breakfast
  22. No, you can pass to a teammate irrespective of the number of opposition players between you and the goal line provided that your team mate is behind or level with you
  23. Agreed, though one of my favourite zig-zag chant banter was with Arsenal many moons ago, when Shearer was out injured and they were chanting ‘England’s no. 9’ at Ian Wright: Us: ‘Shearer! Shearer!’ them: ‘One leg, he’s only got one leg, he’s only got one leg’ us: ‘one leg, he only needs one leg, he only needs one leg’ etc etc
  24. No, the number of defenders doesn’t come into it if the ball is played sideways or backwards. Two players can be ahead of the whole opposition side and can pass the ball.
  25. Neither player was close to offside for Willock’s pass - the check was for the ball being played back to Gordon. If it was played by the Arsenal player he can’t be off, and if it is played by Joelinton then he’s level or behind. You can absolutely determine this.
