Instead, he's treating well-established historical fact as revelatory, and bizarrely threatening the club if they keep up 'the narrative' about the date of establishment. It is a little unusual, given that many of England's established 'name' clubs went by a different name from the one by which they became famous (Man Utd, Arsenal, Man City, Everton, Sheff Wed, Wolves, West Ham, WBA, Birmingham City, etc etc) yet don't usually give their foundation date as the year of the name change. But it is hardly some terrible dark secret which needed investigative journalism to uncover.
