  1. Yep. Would happily never play them again, even if they are so shite we’d win nine times out of ten.
  2. Love the implied threat with ‘lewsing a tenner’. Like he’s going to chin the club if they cost him his bet.
  3. There’s a fair bit of the ‘we’ve already got a top right back, why do we need another expensive right back’ crack going around. The answer for me is ‘big clubs have more than one good player per position’. We’re on our way to being a big club again. This is perfectly normal.
  4. My dad said to me the other day that they now have the most expensive squad in the PL - CBA to check, but if true then they do a remarkable job of going on like they’re working miracles

  6. Does Edwards need to comment though? What happens if he doesn’t? I’m honestly asking the question - I don’t have a firm opinion edit: for clarity, I’ll happily state on a forum here that Casey obviously is a gobshite. But I’m an anonymous gobshite sat on a forum. There’s no power imbalance. Edwards, on the other hand, is meant to be a professional journalist - I’m not convinced that the weight of his national newspaper needs to be brought to bear on an irritating but ultimately harmless gobshite.
  7. Neymar to Chelsea makes perfect sense to me. Apart from the obvious over-hyped and over-paid element, he’s also a racist and a supporter of Bolsonaro. Perfect fit with their ‘traditional’ support.
  8. Not sure how I feel about this. Casey is a delusional gobshite, but you only need eyes and an IQ above 80 to work that out. Edwards just looks like a bully here though - the man just needs to get off Twitter and try to be a ‘proper’ journalist
  9. Yeah, sadly you’re 100% right there. There’s some vile shit which gets aimed at black players online - and only a handful of the fuckers get prosecuted. I hope she isn’t - but unfortunately I think you’re right.
  10. Yep. The S*n of course reproducing it on their front page, while trying to pretend they didn’t agree with the sentiment and hadn’t whipped it up in the first place:
  11. I can remember what the press did to Beckham in fairness - gleefully reproducing effigies being lynched, etc. It was pretty bad.
  12. Yep, solid at the back, pish upfront. They shouldn’t be needing a shootout, really.
  13. Ref missed what happened and didn’t see how bad it was. Honestly, I didn’t think this one even could be debatable
  14. Honestly, I can’t picture circumstances where that isn’t given as a red card. As plain as the nose on my face, that one.
  15. And ‘intent’ also isn’t a requirement of the laws of the game outside of tiresome pub bores and know-nowt ‘pundits’
  16. I was just saying to Mrs BB that football terminology is heavily gendered - but ‘person-to-person marking’ is a bastard to say
  17. Yeah, I can’t be arsed with it either. It is possible to have enjoyed ASM’s time at NUFC but be happy that Barnes is onboard.
  18. Nigeria just look really solid here. England struggling with ideas to break them.
