I’d be perfectly happy if the window shut tomorrow. Anyone else in would be great, but I’ve zero expectations

And being a right ugly cunt …

God, that documentary was great. ‘I don’t know what you’re laughing at son, you were fucking shit’. Magic.
-
Not available outside the UK, RoI and Scandinavia apparently. That’ll grow the club worldwide, then.

Jesus Gil?

Levy is such a cunt. He’s hung Kane out to dry. Kane should go back, feign injury and piss off on a free next year.

Not sure about that mind

There are two elements to this I can think of: 1 - the positive one - a stadium is a fixed asset. Once built, the club reaps the benefits - this is particularly the case if the cost is met upfront 2 - the cynical one - all the current big clubs are the ones who are truly protected by FFP. However, facilities are expensive and required - so they won't want their FFP to be hit by building a billion-pound stadium
-
There used to be a good atmosphere at Maine Road / CoM stadium. I suspect that success flattens atmospheres in the long run - expectation means that wins are expected, and anything else is failure. I'm happy for us to take part in a social experiment to see if this thesis is correct - if NUFC would oblige and win a lot of trophies that would help this research. In the name of social science NUFC, get some trophies.

Yep, I don't get misty-eyed when I see what T Dan Smith wrought. It was cultural vandalism.
-
No, I'm with you on the four-sided grounds. Football is about the only area of life where I'm deeply conservative. I don't like the bowl-style stadia - they're characterless. If we stay at SJP in its current guise, I will add my name to the list of those who think the East Stand needs knocking down though - even if the number of additional seats is extremely small
-
As fun as it is to do, we've got no solid evidence at all that PIF even want to pour in the sort of money required to build a super new stadium where money is no object. This is an investment vehicle - cold, hard numbers will come into play. This will also apply to any redevelopment of SJP.
-
Tbf one of the biggest reasons we top that list is the same as the one every NUFC away fan wanted to know when Blackpool away was in 2009/10
-
That was always my match day experience. 90mins + HT was literally the only interaction I ever had with the stadium, other than when you used to actually have to go to the ticket office for away game tickets
-
It’s probably canny enough for a young lad like him - but the long term prospects aren’t great, I would think. I could be wrong, like - we might get to see a 50+ Adam P hanging round outside the training ground like the old drunk pervert who we sometimes used to see outside our school gates.
-
Seems thunderously unlikely to me now. We look fully stacked in midfield, and it isn’t clear that we’d have anything like £45m left available to us. Silly season stuff.

Ramsdale would be England’s no.1 if it was my call. Good keeper for me.

Newcastle United vs. Aston Villa: 12/08/23 @ 17:30 (Sky Sports)

That’s insane -
I’ve decided to watch it with subtitles and read them in my head in a Brian Blessed voice.
-
Shearer is the Steve Davis of football, though unlike Davis he really didn’t become interesting later on Canny centre forward though
-
It would have been the same without Brexit, as all EU member states have their own rules re work permits for non-EU nationals
-
West Ham look like they’re investing the Rice bonanza as sensibly we did the Gascoigne one (one for the young’uns, that one)
-
I’d have Buzzcocks doing the American commentary
-
Second vote for Brian Blessed. We actually signed Gordon last year - Blessed would love screaming that name at the top of his lungs. I’d turn the radio off if I heard Kevin Whately on it. Makes Shearer sound like captain charisma not captain creosote.

Wasn’t the original House of SS Attire Hugo Boss?
