Manchester City vs. Newcastle United: 19/08/23 @ 20:00 (TNT Sports)

Anything in this one is still a massive bonus - I wouldn’t be downhearted by a loss here. -
Depends how much he’s sold for, but he’ll only have amortised £3m of the original £15m so far. I think it’s premature to think he’s going - and I don’t think we’ll sell. If Hall is to be eased in at LB, then Burn is likely to be moved back to CB with Targett still competing for a LB role. Squad is still too thin to consider letting a solid PL LB like Targett go (unless the lad wants to go). I hope he stays, personally.

Only the Super Cup would I hold in contempt tbf - I don’t like seeing the other European tournaments undermined. But the Super Cup? UEFA don’t recognise it as a major tournament - so we shouldn’t either -
Tbf the ‘Madders’ love-in was just fucking bizarre to me. Looked completely unsuited to us - whereas Barnes looked like a Howe player. I completely take your point, though - plenty may not have been happy. It would have sounded like a cracking window to me.

Don’t play your strongest side in a midweek glorified friendly then, you daft cunt. -
It’s like waiting for bad debt to drop off your credit file

NB I’m aware that Streatham Rovers is a parody account
-
Yep. ‘Ho ho ho they execute advocates for democracy’ isn’t fantastically funny like.
-
I can’t blame him for sitting on his contract mind. I blame the previous regime.
-
Yep, Faustian pacts and all that.
-
Hemp is such a good footballer mind. She’s like a female Beardsley - she has that ability to just nick the ball off a player with her toe and then cause chaos. Russo one of those players who seems to do absolutely nowt but finishes first time shots like no-ones business. Looking forward to the final now. I think Bronze is the only player left from that semi final sickener in 2015 - hope Northumberland’s finest goes all the way.

Cracking strike for the opener. Desperately want to win this after days of listening to smug predictions at work, and the tiresome arrogance of some of the shite I heard from punters on the train off to Homebush for the game tonight. I did enjoy some of the crowd counting down to half time, clearly thinking it works like rugby league and the hooter was about to blow on 45 mins

I don’t like this - at all - but I’ve arrived at a point of weary acceptance. This is going to be a thing as long as PIF own the club.

Wait until he comes on as a sub. There is precedent. https://www.sportbible.com/football/president-of-suriname-played-for-the-football-team-he-owns-20210922

That’s a pretty sensible approach for me. I can accept that Greggs does reach places that Milligans can’t. But for their bread & butter baked products, Greggs is the inferior. These things are important
-
We likely don’t have the budget to bring in the players at the top of those lists.
-
We’re playing for snookers with FFP atm. I wouldn’t be surprised if Arsenal & Chelsea deliberately wasted our time dangling potential loans.
-
Am I the only Geordie who thinks that Greggs is absolute shite - heartburn in a roll. Milligans was always the superior Newcastle bakery. The UK doesn’t know what it missed.
-
The lad isn’t wrong like
-
Yeah, that fucking Newcastle place which gives the world nowt. Says the bloke who’s handle (Norbert Colon) is taken from a Viz character. Where is Viz from, again?

In terms of Europe, a ban from UEFA competitions. Domestic - fines, transfer embargos, points deductions, relegation …
