It’s their game plan. It’s deliberate - we don’t need to play well for it to be the case.
-
Leicester will be happy that their game plan has worked like - they’re playing for a 0-0 before hoying on Maddison and Barnes to have a go at snatching it. This feels like one of those games around February - we just can’t finish. I don’t give a shite as long as we don’t concede - 0-0 gets us what we need
-
Isak should bury that
-
Isak is just silky on the ball. He’s frighteningly good. The players like that I’ve seen in B&W I can count on one hand.
-
Odd that from Wilson - seemed to want all day.
-
Bruno’s a lucky boy there
-
The players shouldn’t be the ones having to walk. The officials should pick up the match ball and automatically award a 3-0 victory to the other side. The lad receiving the abuse shouldn’t be the one having to make the gesture.

Fucking awful what happened to Vinicius, but the nation which recently elected Bolsonaro can’t be talking about ‘all Brazilians’ either mind.

Personally, I’d rather Longstaff starts - though if we’re level or narrowly ahead he’d be a great choice to come off the bench with half an hour left to Harry and harass Leicester. The flip of course is that if things don’t go to plan in his absence he’s not who you’d turn to to change things. -
I think Krafth will be given a chance to be reserve RB when he returns to fitness - he looked good at the end of last season. I'd add Ritchie to that list (if he doesn't want to stay on as a coach).
-
I think that's actually double what you'd get for Schar, so selling him would be nuts. I'm with you on ASM. The only players worth selling would be those we'd get reinvestable sums for - and there aren't many of those on the fringes. There are half a dozen obvious slots to backfill or swap out - we clearly need (and I'm assuming will be going for) a LB, a quicker RCB, a CM (likely a DCM), a creative midfielder, and at least one more wide forward - and potentially a keeper if Dubravka goes. That would give us a full squad with two options for all positions.

What does the club doctor say though? Joelinton would need to be chained to his hospital bed before he'd admit to being unable to play -

Like you, I also dislike cherries on cakes - so the old adage is probably meaningless for me. Fruit + cake = evil. Give me proper sugar any day of the week. -
Don't know if it has already been said, but Arsenal's form for the last third of the season has been mid-table form. For all of the pundits' 'they'll learn from this, be back next year' patter - I wouldn't be so sure of that.

Mackematics at work again I see. ‘So Timmy, if the black and white team gets one more point, how many can the red team get in total?’
-
Yep, I’m not at home to sympathy when it comes to them. I laughed like a drain at the Lu’on result. Baaaaals to them.

While it would be great to finish 3rd - which always feels like a ‘podium finish’ - have to say that would just be the hundreds and thousands on top of the fucking muckle big cake this season has been - CL qualification would be the cherry -

The same would be written regardless of the team involved. They still have an outside chance. We’ll wrap it up on Monday though. -

I mean, it does because they would have been dead without it. All over bar the shouting now though. -

Ah telt yiz -
I’d also say he’s of limited ability at this level. He isn’t a top level footballer. The lad works his bollocks off and has a massive heart though, and he’s a decent PL player. He’s immensely likeable.

And a timely reminder for our lot next year - European football policing standards are fucking terrible. Be careful

Great post. And the highlighted bit is also a pet hatred of mine - ten grand a year to become a fucking sports hack. If they really are that fucking useless, they should be paid no heed whatsoever.

Yeah, the 5-4 was a classic. I missed McGhee’s winner as the atmosphere in the Milburn paddock was raucous after Quinn made it 4-4 and my dad took me off his shoulders. So the winner for me was basically the back of some bloke’s coat. The 2-1 was at Filbert Street so I didn’t count it - but it (along with Portsmouth at home the game before) is probably the most important day in NUFC’s history (though in the end we didn’t need the win) -

If Villa do us a favour this game may lose a fair amount of relevance tbf. I still think they’ll get a point at Anfield.
