The front three could do with being smarter in their movement - if Gordon goes wide, someone needs to go central. -

Cracking volleyed cross that -
I always thought he’d end up managing us at some point. It won’t happen now like - and hopefully one of the reasons why is Howe is successful
-
If he’s better as a midfielder it’s even more damning of Howe’s view of the lad, given that we’re on the bones of our arse and have a school kid playing every week in there. We’ve got several players who can play LB.

Erik Nevland was the greatest Man Utd - NUFC transfer of all time. On every one of my Champ Man 97/98 games. John Curtis was pretty damn good, too.

This is why I’d rather see a new ground with shitloads of corporate - to try and keep ST costs to a minimum. I wouldn’t want to see the average matchgoer in the NE being hammered to go to the football
-
Haha yep, somehow they were always a good night out - always went to a town or village which was just the right size depending on how many coaches were on. Great times
-
Yep. Top of my head I’ve done around 100 away days including Europe - of course, loads will have done far more than that. The win ratio would be terrible - but it’s not the football that necessarily sticks in the mind. Sometimes whichever small Yorkshire town Barrett’s coaches pulled into on the way back to Newcastle produced happier memories than the 90 mins of turgid football that preceded it
-
Anfield’s rebuilt Main Stand completely revamped and increased the corporate capacity & intake. Capacity isn’t the only way to catch up to Liverpool and Man Utd - loads of corporate is. SJP just doesn’t have that at the moment. Liverpool’s matchday revenue is more than £40m more than ours - though their cheapest ST is also £200 more expensive than ours. So to catch up, we’d need to hike the average ST price up by 50% and somehow add a load of corporate to a stadium that doesn’t currently have sufficient space for it. Man Utd’s matchday revenue is £100m more than ours.
-
Our match day income is currently one third of Spurs’. I doubt a potentially unfeasible Gallowgate extension to add 7,000 of the cheapest seats in the ground is going to claw that back by much. SJP as it stands isn’t fit for purpose
-
61% of Sunderland voted to leave Europe, but I bet a higher % of Europeans would have voted for them to leave
-
We’ve watched enough Howe press conferences at this point to know how media savvy he is - he gives nothing away unless he chooses too. I don’t get the impression that Howe is particularly cut up about it
-
Gan on Eddie lad
-
You’re right re his record, but a bottom half club would absolutely take a punt on him - he’s guaranteed goals during the half a season when he’s fit, which could be the difference between staying up or not. He’s been linked to big clubs, but I can’t see any of them picking him up because of the injury record
