No it wouldn’t have - at all. The rules change to SCR next season - any loan signings this season would have zero impact on our summer budget. PL SCR is assessed July-June in the season - there’s no longer a three year rolling number. Not making loan signings - especially looking at the GK and LB options - was absolutely suicidal, and the hallmark of the terrible transfer dealings at the club.

Booing is a load of complete wank, mind. Shame on any daft cunt who did that.
-
Eddie subbed on Hall, Gordon and Willock when we were 9-1 ahead against a terrible side with just over half an hour to go - Hall being our only LB worth playing the PL. It was utter madness - and I’m not having him complaining about European football in his post-match presser. He’s not managing the situation when he has the chance to do so.
-
Probably not that smart a move to give all of your first teamers minutes in a match where you’re already miles ahead from the first leg just a few days before, then. The fixture congestion issue is real, but we haven’t helped ourselves.

I don’t disagree, but it’s dangerous to forecast based upon predicted qualification
-
Gordon is the latest off a long line of English wingers who aren’t particularly good dribblers, don’t have a great cross, don’t have a deadly or accurate shot in the arsenal, but have an engine and will run around a lot. He’s one of the better ones England has at the moment.

The Ridsdale reference was to us tbf - for clubs with much higher incomes than ours a CL campaign represents about 10% of income - for us it can be more than double that
-
You can’t mortgage the club on CL income - there’s not a club in England which can guarantee that they’ll have it season-by-season. It needs to be treated as a bonus, not a forecast of future cash flow. The fate of Peter Ridsdale’s tropical fish should be a warning from history.

I miss a well-taken direct FK

It would be fucking incredible; no two ways about it. But the albatross has been shot - I’d given up on seeing a trophy in my lifetime.
-
That’s all I do these days, I don’t even cover myself - a duvet is an indulgence. But on a cold night in NE England? Socks all the way.
-
Winning the European Cup is the ultimate in club football - but even in the very unlikely event of it happening, I’m not sure the emotion of last year is replicable.

Howe’s moved Woltemade back because he couldn’t get it to work, to the point that he was potentially putting his job at risk. My view - and it’s only my uneducated opinion - is that we’d need to play narrower and closer to Woltemade, who I think would play much better with two inside forwards next to him rather than wingers. I think you’d also want at least one of your midfielders making surging runs. This would give him outlets to use his technical ability to create chances for them, and would also give him more time to lose his marker and get some shots off. Completely my view, like I say. But I don’t think Woltemade will do much with balls whipped in from out wide, and you can’t teach instincts. Howe will know better that’ll of us, of course.

She obviously doesn’t understand that it’s impossible to get to sleep with cold toes - and socks are a vital part in the process of retaining warmth in that area until the temperature under the sheets is at an acceptable level. Like most women she doesn’t understand this simple and logical measure.
-
No - winning a trophy is multiple times bigger than this. We’ve also played Barca in the last 16 before.
-
Like all civilised people, I find no fault with it. But folks who wear the same socks two days running I’d happily see buried alive

That’s like spraying your kegs with Lynx when you rewear them for a second day WM 😁

😁 It would be the greatest trophy win of the competition by an English manager. I’m also worried that there isn’t enough gold available on earth to cast the giant gold Eddie statue I’d demand, which I’d want bestriding the banks of the Tyne like a colossus.

Lewis Miley: signs six-year contract extension (Official)

I’m glad I’m not as shit at estimating as our medical team is, I’d have to find another job -
That’s a sensible washing machine policy I reckon. There’ll be people reading this who sneer at the idea of a washing machine policy - but I bet their washing honks, unlike mine and madras’s
-
Welcome to the world of FFP. It is what we need to do to grow.
-
Maybe I’m used to being in Australia and having a laundry room, but I always leave the washing machine doors open. It’s actually recommended to do it, as it prevents bacteria growth in the machine from mould building up - as well as stopping the rubber around the seal from stinking.
-
That’ll dee me. I want to play European opponents and they don’t come bigger than these; even if it feels like the gillionth time we’ve played them.
-
I’d like to see him start performing and scoring - no issue with him staying, no issue with him being sold. I think we’ll buy at least one new centre forward this summer either way - post-Brentford it feels like Howe has given up on whatever was being tried and reverted back to what his team does best.
