Unless Spurs have an entirely new side to put on, it’s doubtful -

I don’t remember any PL side look as insipid as Spurs has so far tbh. They look absolutely flim-flam. -

I don’t think we’d see this movement with our two ‘proper’ CFs either mind -

Ref giving nowt to either side here -
Baggio and Pirlo managed to play for both clubs and not have coffee cups inserted into their rectums. Ibrahimovic was more likely to insert the cup into the rectum of the person ruining his coffee in fairness. The San Siro’s official name is in the honour of a player who played for both clubs. Plenty of players have played for both Milan clubs - the idea that it’s a hard and fast divide which you don’t cross is laughable.

Agreed on all points - just thinking out loud re lack of movement
-
It absolutely does, of course. But this is where the valuations of football clubs will ultimately come unstuck - they won’t keep rising forever. Football is coming up to its ‘Napster’ moment too - something needs to change re the broadcasting of it and those rights. What’s worked in the past won’t necessarily work in the future.

The problem with a new ground of course is that it makes perfect ‘PSR sense’, but does not make business sense. If a new ground of say 68k with loads of corporate increased revenues to £80m from £40m, and a new super stadium cost £2bn, it would take half a century of additional revenue to cover the base cost (never mind the interest applicable) assuming that the additional revenue paid for the new ground. The numbers don’t work at all. There are areas which are ‘PSR neutral’ for the club - the academy, the women’s team, the training ground, the stadium. In almost five years there has been solid but modest investment in all of these - but nothing to suggest anything like a bunch of blank cheques are about to be thrown about. It is why I don’t understand the anger re PSR - the bits it doesn’t touch haven’t seen real money thrown at them. It’s also why I seriously doubt much will happen.

Sorry, which hampered crusty buildings are they that you’re referring to? Agreed on the rest of it, but Newcastle already had half its Georgian centre knocked by corrupt vandals and idiots, we shouldn’t be advocating the remaining bits being knocked down because some lazy cunts won’t walk an extra 100m to a football ground.

He was honest to the point that it’s actually worrying - very few modern managers / head coaches expose their own vulnerabilities in that way. It’s a mark of the man.

Does she understand that this is an argument for blocking female voices in men’s football?

There’s definitely been significant improvements re this stuff post-Ashley. The issue is them making ‘best in class’ statements and setting ludicrously short time scales and then not making the type of investment required to get there. You’re absolutely right re everything you’ve said here, but there’s definitely been improvements elsewhere. My view would be that all of those improvements would’ve occurred under pretty much any owner who isn’t Ashley - PIF and Staveley came in making noise about investment into the club, city and North East generally and nothing like what was promised has materialised.

‘Do you think if you start eating sausage rolls and beef borgas you’ll bulk up a bit?’
-
Absolutely - the lack of real goal threat has the additional impact of putting pressure on the midfield and defence
-
Yep, that’s always the impression I got of him

Dishonest? I’ve got a memory and I’ve got eyes. We had a terrible dozen game stretch in 23/24 which cost us at the end of the season. At no point this season have we looked particularly good - in comparison to a season where we beat PSG 4-1, I’d say the performances haven’t ever reached that level.
-
In terms of ‘we should be in X position based on xG’ it’s a waste of time. The only thing it potentially shows is that the team isn’t very good at finishing.

A fit and functioning Botman is definitely the best CB we have

Just someone who could actually take them Shearer and Solano were handy too. We’ve no-one who can take them atm.
