But I’ve no sympathy for him missing the final - it was an idiotic thing to do, it was violent conduct, and he absolutely deserves his ban. Nothing should be held against him when he comes back, but it wasn’t an ‘unlucky’ red card. He put his hands in his face. So yes, he deserved an obvious red card and a suspension

I'm as hung up on it as anyone - but there's zero guarantees about anything, and regular CL qualification is important in the long run, but ultimately I'd be perfectly happy with Conference League next year and another realistic chance of winning a trophy. Perhaps our commercial team could continue growing at the current rate, which I understand is achievable, rendering CL qualification unnecessary
