Forest won the play offs last year, might stay up this season 2020-21 - Brentford - stayed up and still there 2019-20 - Fulham - Relegated 2018-19 - Villa - stayed up and still there 2017-18 - Fulham - Relegated 2016-17 - Huddersfield - Won play offs and stayed up the following season Shows over the last few seasons that teams that win the play offs have a decent chance of staying up
-
Whilst I agree it's a poor league in general, It doesn't mean teams that are promoted therefore can't compete at all in the PL. Alot of teams who get promoted end up staying up.
-
As mentioned in tons of posts before, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and the vast majority of normal fans don't think we have 5 or 6 PL players.
-
It's incredible in itself we are even talking about a play off position, We have been bang average in half of the games.
-
Probably a lot of it is down to momentum and how you finish the season, If you get into third by winning your last game having been fighting to stay in the play-offs you are probably in a decent mindset. If you've chased automatics for weeks and still miss out despite comfortably going onto finish third or lower, it probably kills it the other way. I remember us playing Lincoln under Johnson in the playoffs, We were chasing second for ages then only won one of the last nine including not winning at home in any of the last three home games. We ended up finishing fourth on a run of shit form and then got knocked out in the semis. If you sneak 6th and play a team that chased the automatics until the very end you probably have a good chance.
-
It means if you stick a tenner on you get nowt back.
-
We need to win the next two which are very winnable but then we would have huge pressure on us to continue that run of form against WBA, Watford and Preston who all have play off aspirations themselves. It would take an incredible run of around 5 wins and a draw from the last 6 to make it and I don't think we are quite good enough to do that with the players we have available.
-
Even yesterday our play in the final third was shocking, We should have won comfortably but ended up just scraping the win. Stewart has been such a miss, not even just for his goals but he presses from the front, gives you an outlet when you want to knock it long and his hold up play is brilliant, He's no slouch either. We've missed him badly. He's also canny when defending set pieces as we are a team of midgets with the players we have out.
-
100% - Stewart is brilliant, Just hope he signs a new deal as he would be almost impossible to replace unless we chucked some money at it. We are just too young and naïve I think this season, We have chucked so many points away with last minute goals and what not. There was also two home games that we had against Blackpool and Preston when we had neither Stewart or Simms which would probably have been a different story if they'd been playing.
-
Absolutely, I wasn't even sure we would survive to be honest but it looks like a few of our players seem more suited to the Championship than the cloggers in League One. We probably need to strengthen through the core of the side over the summer and actually buy some strikers, criminal the way we have been left since January without a proper goalscorer. Looks like Donald is being phased out bit by bit, Can't wait until he's gone for good.
-
I can't see us making the play-offs, Our home form has been poor all season and we have missed key players for a large chunk of it. Hopefully a few decent signings in the summer and we can give it a real crack next season, very good season regardless all things considered.
-
Said it before but Ballard is the pick of the bunch and he will get a move in the summer I think if we don't go up, He's a Prem centre half in the making.
-
I would eat it either way, looks class for footy bait.
-
There's absolutely nee chance we serve that in the ground like
-
I didn't suggest you were, I just find it odd you had the audacity to say 'I go into bat for them alot' when you have posted thousands and thousands of messages on it when all you do it use it as a yard stick to beat Sunderland fans with, very odd.
-
Didn't you have an account on there for years, racking up thousands and thousands of posts, day in, day out?

I think they'll bring in another today, Gyokeres has been linked heavily. Dyche would probably like Maupay as he runs around like a lunatic.
-
I honestly couldn't give two shits about what is posted on the SMB, I have said it before and said it again it does not represent normal Sunderland fans and using this continually as a yard stick in every single thread is boring.
-
I think they'll bring Simms back, Lampard was so naïve in bringing him back as it limited Simms options completely.
-
Aye completely ironic one moron on the SMB said something about Bruno then Stewart fucks his Achilles.. Highly unlikely Stewart has played his last game, We will no doubt activate his further one year extension with another contract offer already on the table.
-
Stewart out for the season, proper shitter, desperate for a striker to come in today now.
-
No chance without Stewart if we don’t get a replacement. Looks a bad one, we’ve been hammered with injuries this season.

Aye, prefer curry sauce on me chips like, nee cheese for me.
