So clubs only won titles because of breaking FFP rules and other clubs only won/will win titles because of FFP rules. So everyone's cheating. Triffic.

Just for a bit of research I've looked through a few old fanzines and they're literally having the same discussion in there in 94/95 that we are now re atmosphere. First time I was shown in there it was like Crocodile Dundee in New York trying to suss out the lav. I couldn't quite believe it. Just felt weird with no roof and, well, no toilet. That would have been 1989 so not like most public toilets were like the ones on Demolition Man or anything. Only used the facilities at SJP about four times in about 900 games. See the ability to eat and piss during 2hours at a match as in case of emergency rather than part of the 'experience'. Same as at the movies or something.

In an FFP world where chasing the dream is forbidden, collapse theoretically impossible and everything pretty set and stagnant, its reassuring that ticket prices will still continue to go up and OAP concessions (Spurs) will still be scrapped. A lose lose for the legacy fan.
-
Doesn't seem all that to me. Very different situation at Coventry with the stadium ownership issues but that's purpose built for these things and I cant imagine if the club owned the stadium it would have made any more difference to them than it has Sunderland.
-
Reckon, now I think about it, I've bought food twice tops at SJP since 1991 where I had a brief penchant for the new club branded fudge.

Another one for the Bruce worse than Pardew count. Multiple reasons when I think about it. Bruce is far lazier, hides his c*ntliness with a nice guy alibi where Pardew is what he is, Pardew didn't shaft a club to come here and could even claim to be ignorant of Ashley's intentions whereas Bruce knew and was warned but wanted to slack off for good coin, Pardew wasn't backed by Ashley - Bruce was. Then in fairness I have Big Sam worse than Pardew and Souness running him close.

Didn't Cantona get whacked by a copper there in the Man United/Galatasaray thing? Bang out of order that. Should have at least Midnight Expressed the horrible c*nt
-
Or it was by far the hardest fixture. Wolves getting outplayed at home by a lower league team was far more of a disgrace if your remotely reasonable

Lot of money for such an oppressively low ceiling Gakpo

An initially doubly incorrect decision and 4minutes later the decision is exactly what it looked like at first viewing.

The only way ordinary teams can beat Man City is keep it tight, hope for a break and bring on subs to change the game. Competing with them is not an option.
-
I just don't see how its his fault we were outclassed and beaten. Thats the case even when they lose to anybody outside to enshrined elite and the utterly natural order of what should happen. There's players in that team that wouldn't have been out of place in the scratch Pardew team that won there.
-
Didn't beat Man City at Eastlands nor go toe-to-toe with them only on account of not being equpped to and we only had five-six key players out and our hands tied behind our back financially. For shame.
-
Christ! you'd think everybody else that goes to Man City goes toe-to-toe with them and gives them a game and its just chance that they thrash most teams and haven't lost for 38 of these games.
-
Would have snapped your hands off for a 2-0 loss and nothing game.
-
Aye Dubs has dealt with everything well for once. Saves it for games that are total wastes unfortunately. Completely unconvincing and often costly the rest of the time.
-
There's four purples and a revitalised Schar in an otherwise Ashley team against the best team in the world. Not seen anything remotely surprising.
-
Why were some people expecting any other kind of game? We cant compete with them and so were not competing with them. You can fluke but with our luck?! We knew this when the draw was made. Give City two spawny goals and this is them against anybody outside the top 5 and almost everybody in Europe. Its every City game against almost every manager they come up against, not Howe.
-
Most exciting thing that's happened in the game including the goal and it's contraband
-
Have a hundred times their resources but zero chance of competing with them. What a sport.
-
So steps sponsorship ay? Got the shit early game killing goal the sorry direction of this sport deserves
-
This would have been a massive game in the making,.clash of titans... Thanks to ffp it's a drab write off in a dead atmosphere. Thank God it was brought in to save football.
-
It really diminishes the achievements that any of them have coming in an environment where Newcastle, City, Villa are held back from being anything like what they could be. But it won't be presented like that. The usual teams finishing above clubs they have financial advantages over that they've now enshrined is true Roy of the Rovers stuff.
-
Each rule softens us up for the next one without which any single one just looks blatant and would have been absurd. The idea that it's cheating 'financial doping' for a club to spend money it has - but not cheating at all to ban a rival from competing is just preposterous but its taking hold.
-
That's exactly how the big clubs and UEFA want it unfortunately. And it's basically the raison detre of the CL which went from the unpredictability of a cup format to a league, then did away with qualifiers because the English (and one other big league club eg OM and Barcelona) clubs kept getting knocked out in the prelims (we were the first not to be), to runners up can enter, to 4th place can enter to this carry on next season.
