I expect nowt else from games against these. Its like Charlton were for so long. A game that should be good and that you fancy winning comfortably on paper, like a Coventry say, based on logic. But after enough seasons its just one of those fixtures you just want to bludgeon the points out of and get out the way

That's my experience with no attachment so fair play. Go in there once a week and the city itself is worse than I remembered from working there (actually for the club) years ago with demolition/construction. But have always found it agreeable going north from the hospital to Shields. Hate the snobbish London oriented attitude. It's the last place I'd want to live. The sport was fine. It was only the officialdom that was a problem. So naturally they've done everything they can since to make that worse. I feel like it's never been more broke on the field than it is now and never more bureaucratically obsessed with fannying around with it to justify existences of parasites off it. It was in Washington. A 50/50 area and the school probably followed suit with the influx of people from Penshaw. I worked for them for a bit and on both these work streams so know they ran coaching classes in Yorkshire and Cumbria and did pretty indescriminate mailshots in the same areas to try and lure support. Cant say Newcastle for sure but they did proposition my dad after he stopped going to our games regularly so wonder how they got that intel as I'm sure he sold the ticket on to someone but its pretty desperate stuff. Can't help but think the practice of free/cheap tickets has become a self fulfilling prophecy for them and a habit they can't break. The people (makems) I knew that took them up on it were not impressed and never went back. They were doing this in the Roker Park days and advertised in my high school weekly news that you just had to put your name down at reception. Probably a dozen people might go, lad I went to our matches with years later was one just to hang out with his mates.

Personally just gonna enjoy the rest of the season. CL isn't on, personally not bothered about the other options (feel CL is more likely without them in 24/25) and no sweat below. Just a thought. I popped the mackem match on the radio a few times yesterday and the atmosphere was exceptionally bad. Could here some kid shouting and screaming over silence like a primary school match, not even a general drone/murmer. It'll be on radio Newcastle/BBC sounds still for lack of doing it justice. Don't see any disagreement amongst them that the atmosphere is poor there. Just made me wonder as their tickets are notoriously cheap so nobody ought to have been priced out and yet it has the same problem as anywhere else.
