  1. Is that how the clause works? I didn’t know if it would be this summer only or not.
  2. I’m sure Gallagher doesn’t look at either Joelinton or Tonali and think to himself that he has no chance of getting in the team in front of them.

    Marc Guehi

Offer them a big sell on percentage, what with Guehi being a superstar once in a generation talent it surely won’t be that long before he moves on to Madrid.
  4. Ipswich signed Omari Hutchinson from Chelsea who is predominately a right winger, unless they plan to play him off the front man.
  5. They will be fine, they play good football but it can be death by passing at times if the opposition sit back, whilst they wait for an opening.
  6. We can still have a great season in spite of the transfer window, you just know the window will be talked about through the season for every dropped point, impact on our finishing position etc.
  7. I think Mitoma would have gone this summer if injuries hadn’t ruined his season/valuation. I am not sure how they will handle Ferguson and his transfer.

I think there is a good chance it goes through, the concern I have is that after the posturing of the last few days I don’t think it is going to go through any time soon unless we increase our bid even further. The longer we hang on the more we can’t afford for it not to go through, as we will have problems. I don’t have faith in the club getting a short term replacement in either, we have seen in previous windows where we have been crying out for a stop gap but they have gone with what we have.
  9. An opinion from watching both of them play, there are a lot of similarities in their play but Rutter combines his with an unbelievable work rate.
  10. Rutter was excellent last season for Leeds and was in the team of the season I believe, he is better than Joao Pedro and will likely fill the attacking midfield role if they stick with the double pivot in midfield. He can play up front but it would be like us playing Bellamy up front as the lone striker, who would do a lot more in creating opportunities for the midfield than being a goal threat himself.
  11. 9. Newcastle Last season: Seventh Strange summer at Newcastle United, with churn backstage caused by the departure of Amanda Staveley from the boardroom and the arrival of Paul Mitchell as sporting director following Dan Ashworth's move to Manchester United. The European football Newcastle thought they had was taken away by Manchester United's FA Cup final win over Manchester City, while profit and sustainability rules (PSR) meant the reluctant sales of Elliot Anderson to Nottingham Forest and Yankuba Minteh to Brighton respectively. And then came the revelation that the departure of last season's star man and England winger Anthony Gordon to Liverpool had even been discussed to raise funds until other players left. Throw in the speculation linking manager Eddie Howe with England and it has hardly been plain sailing on Tyneside. However, if Newcastle can get a deal for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, arguably England's best player at Euro 2024, over the line then the club and the Toon Army will feel a lot better about themselves. Top 10 but still some uncertainty at Newcastle United. Newcastle United fan writer Charlotte Robson on BBC Sport's Newcastle page: "I think Newcastle will finish fifth and secure European football for another season. My hope is that we finish fourth and get back into the Champions League, and that we get to one cup final this time around. We were depleted last season as we dealt with an unprecedented injury crisis, but we now have depth back in the squad." https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cdrlyg088r5o
  12. Sometimes you just need to cut your losses.

Clubs could have registered an interested but need the right parts to fall in to place.

It feels drawn out as Palace leaked it straight to Ornstein from the start to try to drum up other interest.
  15. Yes, they would be the other 25% who were better value due to not having the Premier League premium attached to them, which was my point.
  16. Without bothering to work it out, I would guess that 75% of our transfers have Premier League experience. I can’t think of any other team in the last 3 years that have had that much of a focus buying from these shores, with the premium that goes with it, as we are seeing with Guehi now.

Did he say which game he was focusing on this weekend?
  18. I said last summer that we should be moving Almiron and Wilson on, yet the majority were against it at the time, so no point in moaning about either of their contracts now.
  19. I think the lack of autonomy around the first team playing staff will see him look to move on within the next few windows. I also think if this window doesn’t work out then he will take the blame for it off fans, which I don’t think he will want to accept due to that lack of autonomy.
  20. If I knew what was going on behind the scenes then I wouldn’t be saying it as an opinion.
  21. I don’t think Mitchell will be here as long as Ashworth was.
  22. 17 days to go before the transfer window slams shut.

Yes, name that unknown talent Zero or you are wrong!!!

He was good enough to start for Chelsea last season when fit and they finished above us, they only lost once when he started after returning from injury. What we should be aiming for is at least 2 players in each position who are good enough to start for us if needed, so we can buy another RCB next summer presuming Schar isn’t going to carry on forever.
