  1. Langstaff even. The site keeps timing out when trying to change the above post. Autocorrect put it to Longstaff.
  2. Macaulay Longstaff has moved to Millwall, a big step up for him at 27 but Jamie Vardy did it, albeit slightly younger. He holds the record for most goals scored in a National League season, 42 in 45.
  3. It is likely that Brighton have more FFP headroom than Man City.
  4. Having the FFP room does not equal having the resources to spend, as a club we will spend up to what we can get away with for FFP where as Brightons whole model is built on signing young players with potential to develop before selling on for a profit. That doesn’t include wage structures due to affordability that Brighton have to work to due to the size of the club. Unless we are going to compare our transfers to Man City, then we shouldn’t be comparing Brightons to ours.
  5. Surely you rate the window compared to the club? What might be a good window for Brighton wouldn’t be a good window for us with our resources, in the same was our good window wouldn’t be good for Man City.
  6. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vpNbi9tvLRQ&pp=ygUTTnVmYyBHb3Jkb24gbWVkaWNhbA%3D%3D Ashworth 0:40 Howe 2:40
  7. There was an article yesterday that said he has been doing work work with transfers behind the scenes for us.
  8. Ben Yedder was signed before him I believe.
  9. That is because it worked out ok in the end. That doesn’t mean the days leading up to the sales were not panicked or chaotic though, which the outcome doesn’t take away from.
  10. Last week was panicked and chaotic.
  11. Apparently they wanted Ashworth and Mitchell but the latter turned down the role, which was more recruitment focused.
  12. Unless one of them leaves I can’t see it.
  13. No, unless it is someone like Gibbs-White that is bought to play RW but can cover in the middle.
  14. He isn’t as one footed as Miggy but he does overly favour his right foot. The difference between the two is that Almiron will work to get the ball back on to his left at the detriment of play, whereas Gibbs-White won’t, instead using the outside of his right foot if he couldn’t pick the pass with his left.
  15. I think there has been healthy debate recently about the type of right winger we do need, with some fans saying we need more of a technical wide man that can pick a pass against the low block and others preferring a similar profile to what Gordon brings down the left. Gibbs-White is a hybrid of both, he is proficient in the technical side but has the work rate and drive to run at players when needed. We have also seen that the better technical wide players are comfortable coming in to the middle and playing in the 10 role, so I don’t see it as a stretch to think that MGB would be as comfortable on the right as he is through the middle. If anything, I could see him and Tonali swapping positions during the game like Joeinton and Willock did.
  16. I am not sure if the first two were on the list, more that we were desperate to sell and PSR slowly killing the market in terms of available money to spend for most clubs, so we were looking at being creative to help facilitate sales. It will be interesting to see if we go back in for either of the above with a straight cash offer now we are in a new financial period.
  17. We appear to have a scattergun approach to buying a new CB, with Kilman and Quansah being chased in part ex deals. I think we went all in expecting to get Tosin and are now having to start the whole CB search again.
  18. I like how you have no real idea about football, so talk about other random things instead. Such an endearing quality.
  19. That’s a joke by the way. Don't vote for those cunts.
  20. Vote Reform, they will sort the BBC out.
  21. If we have paid over the odds then it will be a transfer like that which forces a rule change.
  22. Let’s not turn the Anthony Gordon thread in to a Jimmy Saville one.
  23. The Athletic and the BBC, one that is usually spot on with information from inside the club and another that only posts information that has been verified have said that we put forward a deal for Gordon that involved Quansah. That isn’t believing the worst, it is believing outlets you trust. Understandable that people don’t want to believe it though.
