I don’t see it that way, just that they know any deal between parties both linked to Saudi will be scrutinised and complained about. In the same was as the shirt sponsor would have been. The issue we have is that we need to sell to free us from FFP and ASM is an expendable asset, the more worrying thing is even at a low price nobody else seems to want him, so we are selling him to a Saudi team to get the money in so we can move forward. Someone else said that the value of a player is what someone else is prepared to pay, if he was that undervalued then other clubs would be in for him and he would have other options than going to play out there.
-
Fabinho is also a big name Brazilian player who has won the Premier League and the Champions League, while he has had a disappointing season he will still be seen as a class act. It isn’t quite the same for ASM, being introduced as a former France under 21 player and goal of the month winners for October 2022.

£30 million is about right, although I understand the disappointment of those who thought Saudi Arabia were going to sign him to pump extra money in to the club.
-
Signed a seven year deal as well.
-
If we were selling him to a club in Spain or Italy we wouldn’t be getting much more than £30 million for him if we were lucky, unless there was a player coming the other way and we were over inflating both players fees for short term FFP. If he is going to Saudi then it will be a question of how much we can realistically sell him for without the complaints flying in.

I don’t think he would be coming in to be back up to Schar for long.
-
We did similar in January to be fair.
-
If ASM decides to leave then we will get Barnes but other than that I think we are done.
-
I would be amazed if we sign 3 defenders this window.
-
I wouldn’t be surprised if West Ham put an offer our way for Wilson.
-
Doku should be so much better but he is injury prone for someone his age.
-
It is potentially both, that we have money earmarked for certain positions but didn’t expect Barnes to be available and to move for Livramento this summer. Selling ASM helps with FFP for both, plus you wouldn’t sign Barnes with ASM still here. We had the money for Tonali and was still looking at the Hungarian guy that went to Liverpool, so potentially money is still there if we can find the right player to play on the right.
-
Roughly ASM holds a value of £5.5 million on the books (£16.5 million split over 6 years) so anything above that can be booked as pure profit this year help No with FFP, so if he was sold for £35 million it would mean £29.5 million profit on the accounts. If Barnes was bought for £40 million on a 5 year deal it would be £8 million spend this year on the books, same goes for Livramento with his lesser fee.
-
£35 million plus £15 million in add ons, which will be easier to hit than Woods at Forest.
-
We sell them ASM but he becomes homesick so we loan him back in January. Creative.

I must admit, I have had better 45 minutes of being sportswashed. -
To be fair if you take away his left foot he is one footed.

Ex-Manchester City footballer Benjamin Mendy has been cleared of raping a woman and attempting to rape another. The 28-year-old was accused of attacking a 24-year-old woman at his £4m mansion in Mottram St Andrew, Cheshire in October 2020. Mr Mendy was also accused of the attempted rape of another woman, aged 29, who said he had also molested her at his home two years before. It comes after he was cleared of six rapes at an earlier trial in January. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-66201526

Sign him up.

Hendrick and Hayden have already been written off according to the accounts, so while they are still being paid a wage it doesn’t impact FFP anymore is my understanding.
-
Johnson and Diaby play in the same position so is it a case of picking up the one they can get the best deal on? Johnson has the potential to be really good if he can work on his strength when carrying the ball.
-
It depends if they come in for any of our players later in the window, it becomes difficult for Liverpool and Chelsea to raise any sort of serious complaint if they have happily sold players to them, unless they go for way above market value.

I wouldn’t see us not qualifying for CL as going backwards but our aim should be a second consecutive season of breaking up the sky big six. If we don’t do that and all of them finish above us then I will see that as us going backwards, as we have failed to keep up.
