Allright. With transfers, the buying club is allways helping the selling club? There is something in it for both most of the time.

I just feel like it's another one of those players that seems like a bad signing on the outside, but after a full season we all agree that it was actually pretty helpful. 40 seems a bit too much, but I don't think the club would pay that. He has played 5000 minutes the last 3 seasons and gotten injured once. He was out for 5 games. He has had 2 nasty injuries since 2016 (and 2 more before that), but I'm not really seeing a lot of muscular injuries and minor injuries like Wilson for example.

Unfortunately we are pretty much on par with Villa and West Ham in terms of spending power, all things considered in terms of FFP. Maybe ever so slightly above, but the gap between us and the others above us is quite a bit higher.

What's with the Gomez hate? Are we back into thinking that we should only sign "elite" players with the 7th highest income in the league and barely any sellable assets? I don't even know that much about Gomez, but I know enough to tell that we would be much better off playing him than Krafth. Which is where we are at when Schär is out injured or suspended. I thought Liverpool fans kind of liked Gomez. Not even saying we have to sign him, I just don't see why it would be so horrible.

    Fabian Schär

Can we request a 3 game ban for Diaz for "headbutting" Schär?
  6. On what basis do we actually think that one of Tonalis biggest strengths is in keeping possession? Where did that come from? Not only from what we saw last season, but also most of the analysis of him from Milan, points to a player that fits the high intensity pressing and counter attack game that Howe has done so well with. One that likes to move the ball quickly or look for the killer pass, where the upside of it makes up for losing the ball a little more often than others. Ofcourse, 1 year of coaching can change that. Maybe he has just not really been used in a role that would have him try to keep possession to a bigger degree, and he can actually play that role aswell. Who knows.
  7. I was talking more about what type of player he is by the way, not how good he is. My impression was that he's more of a high risk high reward type of player, or one that tries to be very effective on the ball. Which is different from the type that is really good when you are trying to control a game.
  8. Right, we got another goal right before theirs. Point still stands though, in some situations there was no need to give the ball away with a hollywood pass. That's not what you want to do when you are 2 or 3 goals up against a strong side. He will probably look different this time around though.
  9. Not going to judge a player on specific games, but I still remember that 4-1 PSG game where he had a 55% pass rate. We were up by 2-0 (and 2-1 later), and he gave the ball away on atleast 5 occasions with completely unrealistic throughballs. That was a situation where we could do with a little more composure.
  10. I didn't think Tonali was that type of player to be honest. Not that I have seen him much. His pass % has never really been that high, he seems to like going for risky passes, and his strength was supposed to be longer passes. Maybe I'm wrong though.
  11. Him and Everton started really poorly last season aswell. I feel like that is a theme with Dyche. Besides, the fixtures are not amazing either. But I will give him a few more chances.

He's 24, so shouldn't be too far off of the finished product.

Kind of crazy if this is true and Palace still keep rejecting us..

Trying to push the move, no doubt.

    Fabian Schär

Martinelli in a cup game comes to mind. They are supposed to do it still.

Here we go again. How does Schar get a red for headbutt, but not Diaz?
  17. Erikse

    Fabian Schär

And a red for moving his head, apparently. 2 yellows and a direct red on top of it.

    Fabian Schär

Yeah, Schär was the agressor at first. But.. who was responsible for the contact? From what I have seen, Diaz caused the contact by moving his head. By definition, the one who moves the head forward is the one that should be red carded..?
  19. Erikse

    Fabian Schär

Honestly, after seeing several replays, isn't Diaz the one moving his head towards Schär? Why doesn't he get the red instead then? Because he was the one rolling on the floor?
  20. Whether you feel like it should be a red or not doesn't matter, the rules does.
  21. Howe subs him at 59, denying him 4 additional points, and then he hands in a transfer request.
  22. Probably something silly like "underlying numbers" due to a very high amount of touches and passes last season. Not sure how the new bonus system works, but maybe those things will matter more. He is consistenly top 3 (even 1 often) for touches and passes out of all players in the league. Still, their defensive record will be way more important anyways.
  23. You won't be saying that when McNeil bags a hat trick in the opener.
