  1. People keep asking themselves why Pep got rid, Pep has allways said that if a player wants to leave, then they will arrange it. I don't think Pep wanted him out. He probably just wanted to be a regular starter, and Pep couldn't give him that assurance before the season. It's understandable when they have players like de Bruyne, Silva and Foden.

    Anthony Gordon

If you listen to his recent interview, he seems to spend his energy feeling sorry for himself. Just doesn't have the mentality of a winner at all.

    Anthony Gordon

It looks like he just gives up, even at the start of the game. The moment something doesn't work for him, he just shuts off for the rest of the game.

    Harvey Barnes

I remember having this discussion with someone before the season, because I noticed he was top 3 assists for one season. I was told that he was just lucky because his xA wasn't telling the same story, so this wasn't really a part of his game at all.
  5. I trust your opinion on this more than my own tbh haha. My sample size of watching them is not very big.
  6. Well, to be fair, he needed that penalty goal so that his stats can mask how bad he is.. Actually quite incredible that he has 10 goals, but mainly because of the worst hat trick in PL history.
  7. Exactly, and imagine if Palmer is 1 goal off at the end of the season.. Whatever they say, players do care about that stuff.
  8. Honeslty Jackson should let Palmer take it, considering that he's competing for the golden boot? I'd assume that Palmer is supposed to be the taker. So Jackson tries to rob him of it to make him look better?
  9. The run in for the golden boot is quite stacked atm, several players in the mix. Will be difficult for Isak to catch up.
  10. Well done. I allways start Palmer, but somehow never trust him as cap. Which is kind of ironic, because I often put Haaland, but he keeps letting me down while Palmer hauls.
  11. Yeah, this Palmer guy is not just a penalty merchant.
  12. Palmer is the guy that you almost never cap, but you quite often regret not doing it.

    Kieran Trippier

Don't mind it. As long as we let Tino play when Tripps isn't in form, or when it suits us more tactially for some reason.
  14. Wait, what? I said "atleast". Which even includes scenarios like staying with us for the rest of their carreers. You're twisting my words here. I was just saying that I don't see them going this summer or in january, I expressed no opinion one way or the other regarding their future here after january.
  15. Not to mention the coverage in the midfield with suspension and injuries. Even Man City struggle without Rodri most of the time. I can only imagine if Bruno was out for a period of time..
  16. I'm confident that both Isak and Bruno will stay for atleast 1 more season. Even if they were in doubt (probably not), the club would probably be able to convince them about staying for atleast 1 more year. Unless they get an astronomical bid that is, which is also not likely imo.
  17. That's a striker that I would love to have here. I believe Cunha could do a job on the wing aswell when necessery. He would probably also be too expensive though. I hope we can find an exciting prospect for a decent price, because I'm not convinced that we should spend a large part of our budget on a striker when we have Isak, but that really depends on his injuries.
  18. So far our now sponsorship deals put us halfway to nr 6 or something like that. We will see. About Ten Hag - you went backwards this season and now he talks about patience. That's just an excuse many managers make when they can't get good enough results, to buy themselves more time. Yes, there were injuries, but still. Your fanbase has been asked to be patient for like 10 years now, haven't you? So, if in 5 years time if it's the same story with Man United, will they just ask for patience again?
  19. We could do with a little more creativity in the midfield though. Our excellent attack is kind of making up for it at the moment. Maybe Tonali can bring that?
  20. Yeah, which is why it's hard to break into the status quo long term, as this is what the spending limit is heavily based on. Our owners have to run the club way better than yours is run for a very long time consecutively, for us to have any hope of being a top 4 regular. Unless sponsorship deals gets us there eventually. Leicester broke into the status quo and then got relegated later.
  21. Spent less than Man United since takeover (as much as 80 mill euros less in the last 2 seasons), while also starting out with a squad worth half of yours, and a wage bill probably also being half of yours. It's hard to become a top 4 regular when every signing has to be this good. If we've spent heavily when spending 80 mill less than you in the last 2 seasons, what does that make your spending?
  22. He took over when we had like 7 points in 14 games. In the last half of the season (last 19 games) we were 3rd that season. With a very mediocre squad. The impact of the managers mentioned is so huge that it would kind of be like Man United winning the league in Ten Hags first season.
  23. Nothing like Howe, Emery or Alonso. I guess that yous have low expecations in general by now, but taking Man United (!) from 6th to 3rd is different from taking teams from 18 to perform like a top 4 team in short time. And in the second year, Man Utd have gone backwards, while the other managers kept the momentum going to do even bigger things.
  24. Howe was a similar story. Xabi Alonso even more extreme: Some managers use the patience argument after 2 seasons (Ten Hag). Others has a huge impact during that time.
  25. I agree more on this. Despite their fans whining for ages about referree decisions and such on social media, I kind of wanted Arsenal to take this one. Just because City makes it all so boring to me. Atleast the Arsenal team is somewhat exciting and fun to watch. I used to like Liverpool in their prime under Klopp, but they haven't been the same since they missed out on the quadruple. I don't particularly like them anymore.
