£120.000 per week, not £100.000. By the way, my understanding was that you don't have to pay the remaining amortisation if the player is sold? Maybe I'm wrong.
-
That's exactly what I was thinking aswell.

1 assist in his last 16 starts for us, but he has had several defensive blunders this timeframe. I don't mean to slag him off here, but there's no denying that he hasn't been in great form since the Palace game in october. His value is also dropping for each window. He's on £120.000 per week. We need to sell players to get funds for FFP. You could make an argument for keeping every player of value, but that wont help us. Our main problem right now is the midfield.
-
Do we have to wait until he's not worth anything anymore?

I wouldn't be against selling Trippier for an okay sum while freeing up his wages (his age considered), but the idea that we have offered our captain to a bunch of clubs seems a bit crazy. Howe is still starting him ahead of Livra. As others have said, maybe he requested to leave? From his point of view, if he wants to play more CL football in his carreer then this might be the time for him to leave.

"Willock 2-3 weeks away." Despite our midfield crisis, I really hope we will be careful with him this time.. It's not good for his development to have more reoccurences, and it will be an unnecessary risk just to potensially get a couple of extra games out of an unfit Willock. The timeline for Anderson is really unfortunate in this sense, because if we are going to be careful with Willock then we would really benefit from Anderson being back quickly.

"May be available for Newcastle (h)"

The only reason why I remember the exact month and approximate date in which I became a supporter. Although the anniversary was last year.
-
Not sure. Last season we were really missing Longstaff when we were playing with the midfield that you mentioned. Did their performances get much better before he was back in? I don't remember. Willock has barely played this season. I think our best period in the second half of last season was when Joelinton started as LW and swapped with Willock.

We're experiencing fatigue in a tight schedule, but let's try to maximize the next couple of games anyways. We may or may not win those, and then we will look like a Championship side for the next 5 games after that, gradually becoming worse and worse. Does this sound better?
-
I wonder when clubs like Man Utd, City and Chelsea will have to sell half their squad to comply.
-
Next up: Joelinton out for 3 seasons.
-
I would be shocked if we were selling him this window. There is no reason for us to do that now if we can just do it in the summer instead, unless clause is met. If we sell him now then we've got to focus on getting above 40 points. We are already missing 4 midfielders. I don't know why we would think that our owners are complete idiots, because they haven't shown that at all.

They started all the way back in 2019 when the first rumors of Saudi ownership emerged. Been on and off ever since.
-
After 3 years we will be smashing it though.

Yeah, it's not like any fans has ever been right about criticizing a manager on a part of his game, despite not being experts. Right?
-
No, not as bad, but several clubs have had around 10 injuries at the same time this season. It's like a new trend in the PL. I'd assume that the new stoppage time rules causes more injuries and fatigue. We should have a stronger bench in future seasons though, I agree with that. At the same time having around 10 injuries will allways put more strain on the remaining players, especially with a game every 3 days, while also having an intense playstyle.

Howe will turn Mbappe into a cracking midfielder.
-
They did run into FFP problems in 2021 after taking a gamble on some signings, and the signings didn't turn out well. After that the owners didn't want to spend for a while. It seemed like the trouble with FFP was a big reason for them to pull the handbrakes.
-
I was referring to this: What ceiling are you talking about here? The Levy ceiling? We've had the Mike Ashley ceiling for 14 years aswell. I didn't see what you were replying to at first, and I agree that the post you replied to was an overexaggeration. But if you're talking about having an owner not spending - we had that aswell during the same time. So we can very easily imagine being up against a ceiling created by the owner, while if you're talking about FFP then our current FFP ceiling is way lower than what you've had for the last 15 years.
-
Our revenue in 2022 was lower than clubs like Everton, Leicester, Leeds, Villa and West Ham. I think it's fair to say that the ceiling we're hitting is very different from any ceiling that you've had to deal with during these years, relative to the other top clubs. You've been top 6 in revenue since the start of FFP, consistenly with a great distance to nr 7.

So Messi won ??? ???? ???? ???’? ?????? ????? for 2023. Calendar year. Do we still think he doesn't win prices just for being Messi? 1 goal and 2 assists in MLS. Clearly the best performance in the world.
-
I would never scrap FFP, I also think that would be a bit wild at this point. But it could definetly be changed for the better. That doesn't happen if we pretend like the system is perfect right now. We are far from the only ones who are upset about the state of FFP. Just because we have very rich owners doesn't mean that we shouldn't be upset about it. Also - I'm pretty sure you lot are allowed to spend way more than any other team outside of Sky 6, and it has been like that for a while? Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that your sponsor deals are still miles ahead of ours, and I think we are 7th in terms of sponsorship income.

Whoever we get in will get injured after 2-3 games maximum. Poor sod.
