I don't really mind Longstaff myself, but to me there was also a pretty strong Longstaff narrative not so long ago, almost to the point of him single handedly winning every win where he starts, so it goes a bit over the top both ways.

The thing is you start calling people out for saying that Tonali needs to play after 2 very good performances. If Longstaff performed like Tonali has, and someone said that he needs to play, what if someone replied with "the Longstaff narrative needs to stop"? Would you agree?

I did that because you literally made the same arguments about Longstaff, as if he was the silver bullet to our form some games ago.

"We win more when Longstaff is playing", wasn't that sort of framing him as the silver bullet and giving him all the creds when there were several factors involved?

Just 2 weeks ago Longstaff got the creds for us turning the game around after he got subbed of and Tonali had come on. After we had an awful first half with Longstaff on the field not doing much. And all of a sudden Tonali getting some creds for a good game is just a narrative? Maybe we should hold both to the same standard, that would be less of a narrative.

You're right, Longstaff is the answer to winning every match, as we've already conluded some weeks ago! And that wasn't a narrative right?

Haaland is fine for those who still have him, but I must say there are several expensive assets that most would want atm. Most likely you're going to have to give up 2 of them to get Haaland if you don't have him. Luckily there are some good value options aswell, mind. Probably wouldn't sell him myself if I still owned him.

The Guehi thread has really evolved even further since the summer! The saga continues..

I'm sure Guehi will come out with a statement tomorrow saying that he doesn't want any gay players in the sport. After all, he clearly wanted to tell the world that, and he wasn't worried about going public with it. Waiting for the statement now.

Absolutely not, but what I'm talking about is being too quick with labelling people if they seemingly don't adhere with certain values, and making excessive assumptions about them. Guehi has not stopped anyone from promoting progressive values. I personally think people are idiots for supporting someone like Andrew Tate and such, but we've got to start asking ourselves why these types are becoming increasingly more popular. Sometimes we're just unnecessarily giving them fuel to play the woke card. Not saying we should stop supporting pride, that's not my point. It's more about overreacting to certain things, especially when we don't know the full context.

I actually think polarization often has the exact opposite effect of what it's trying to achieve. We see that in politics now. People who were on the fence or in between are swaying away from this whole "if you don't support this, you are this" thing, and the people on the other side are swaying even further away. I think there's a reason as to why the right side of politics is thriving atm in the western world, and even in Norway the far right party now has more momentum than ever. And I'm not really on the right side myself, I'm more frustrated by it. I think it's larely due to unnecessarily high amounts of polarization, which is not effective at what it tries to achieve. Apologiez for going full political, my point was not to make it about politics, but rather how polarizing over the top reactions could just make the problem become worse, even if you think it's justified.

This.. If Guehi was actually being hateful, I would never defend it. But we are just jumping to the conclusion that he hates all gay people because he doesn't seem to fully support pride. It's a massive polarization. I truly doubt that he would actually hate someone for being gay.

This is literally going against the full meaning of the pride flag.
