  1. Not sure how big of a deal no Europa League or Conference League would be for our players. Not enough to leave just because of that imo. No Champions League is obviously not ideal, but I think that the players know that this also means a better chance at getting back into the CL next season. We have some money ourselves, it's not like we are what Leicester was. Improved sponsorship deals will start to have an effect at some point. I think the only player that could leave is Bruno, but that would also be a possibility even if we qualified. I'm fairly confident that Botman and Isak will stay regardless.
  2. It's not like Salah, Trent, Robertson, Allison or van Dijk wanted to leave Liverpool since they didn't qualify for the Champions League. It doesn't work like that. Botman, Bruno and Trippier chose us knowing that we wouldn't be playing in the Champions League the next season.
  3. Not bad really, but in this situation we would have to pick up 30p from the last 13 games to match last seasons 71p. Meaning 2,3p per game. Would be quite tough obviously. I still think top 6 is very achievable.
  4. I lost 5 points in FPL because they subbed him in.. Why did they have to sub in a CB for an RB at 1-0 Wolves..
  5. "Next season" is an overused one amongst fans, but whatever happens for the rest of the season I really do think that we will be smashing it next season under Howe, with the experience from this season and a deeper squad. Tonali coming back + the summer window could be huge. We're incredible when we get to play with the intensity in which Howes playstyle demands. Hopefully he will also use the experience from this season to make sure it's sustainable aswell.
  6. It usually is. Things are rarely all black and white despite our love for those colors.
  7. There was a time earlier in the season when some of us got told that we were looking too much into the away form. I wonder if that still applies.
  8. Didn't think much of it at the time, but Barnes injury has been real brutal for us.. So unlucky.
  9. Vs Luton and Sheffield United: Saka 6p, 5p Salah 2p, 3p Haaland 4p Son 2p, 3p Watkins 2p, 2p I really wanted to cap Son because of this.. Still went with Watkins because all the experts said so..
  10. Should they not habe given a pen then? The defender was holding his shirt like crazy.

    What was your point then?

I think some people see the forum as a place to vent their frustration after a defeat. Like getting the frustration out of their system. The match threads are highly emotional in many ways, and often not so rational, so I don't read them as often anymore. I think wording matters a lot. There's a difference between saying "3 mistakes in 3 games is hard to ignore", and "3 mistakes in 3 games is fucking terrible", despite the fact that his opinion might be the same either way. What I read from it is that he thinks Trippier would benefit mentally from taking a break. We all know his ability, it's all about the mental part. He just worded himself in a very aggressive manner, indicating that he's still outright upset or mad at Trippier.

Nicolas Jackson has 7 goals, but I still see him as being pretty bad so far. Because he is wasting so many chances. He scored a hat trick against Tottenham, but we weren't impressed because the goals were easy and he also missed some sitters in that very same game. It probably depends on the player.. If a striker is prone to missing chances, then a few goals will not change that. If Haaland misses a few then we forget about it when he scores a brace or a hat trick in the next game. Trippier did some blunders last season, and we forgot about it. Usually we won those games anyways, and his blunders were quite rare. Also he was in really good form at the time. The last 2 weeks however is something completely different, and something might have to be done for his own best. Maybe he will be fine starting against Luton though, I'm sure Howe will have that talk with him.

Oh yeah absolutely! Pointing out the obvious means that I actually hate Trippier and hope everyone abuses him. Clearly!

Which would be an even tell that he's not being himself and may need a break to sort his head out. That's why people are suggesting a break, isn't it? Someone pointed out that Trippier himself said that he hoped that Simeone dropped him at Atletico when he was going through a bad spell.. How is that controversial then?

What if a striker misses an easy chance at 90+2 which would've won it, and then he takes a terrible penalty in the shootout right after? Now, what if the same striker has also missed 5-6 absolute sitters + a pen in his last 4 games, without scoring a goal? Would we be talking about it, and possibly also suggest a break? Yes, I'd say.. Especially when we have other options.

If they missed, we would still be talking about how Trippier gave away a huge chance at a crucial moment for no reason. What's your point? If all of the 5 mistakes that Trippier made in the past few weeks didn't end in a goal, do you think that we would not have noticed them? And therefore he has actually been fine lately? Because that's basically the same as your logic here. You can use this as an excuse for any defensive mistake ever. Titus Bramble was actually fine, the problem is that the opponents kept scoring when he made a mistake. If they had missed the chances then it would've been all good!

If you criticize one of our players or the manager on this forum, then it allways means that you're attacking them because you hate them. Nomatter what happened.
  19. West Ham isn't a walkover for them. If West Ham win tomorrow, then what happened here will be a real shame.
  20. Took out Trippier before the Man Utd game due to our fatigue problems (assuming lack of clean sheets). He got 12p and we kept a clean sheet. Took him back in. He became awful. Story of my season. Also took out Saka for the first time before the Tottenham game. He got 13 points, the only game where he has hauled more than 10p so far.
  21. If they will be allowed in it (considering their ownership). Seems like they will be though.
  22. I don't think they will, but surely they will be confident that they have a real chance at it? They are 7 points off of 6th, but things can change so quickly. I do think that they will submit a strong lineup tomorrow though..
