I agree, but I often ask myself this question. What is the criteria for wins being "deserved"? We've had our fair share of games last season where we couldn't break down tight defences and created several huge chances that we missed. Did we not deserve to win, even though we created so many chances? Lets say the Leicester 0-0 home game for example.

It's either one or the other, nothing in between. There's no way Howe would be saying the truth, that would be too much information.

Around february then.

3 goals from an xG of 0.09 is crazy.

Just thinking about it. Mbappe didn't look like a standout player for them at all in these 2 legs. Maybe we just defended well against him by doubling up, and Trippier played really well. But I wonder if Mbappe is just not all that motivated to play for them. I've seen him at his best where you just can't defend against him.

You're 11th in terms of xP, which is based on xG for each game. So what I'm reading from this is that you've been wasteful in some games that you've ended up winning anyways, and sometimes the opponent has been wasteful when you've won by 1 goal (Wolves for example)?

I didn't know that medical marihuana covered knee injuries.

Maybe if they gave him a surgery 2 months ago he would be fine now. Just kidding, I have no clue really. But seems strange that they still don't really know 2 months later.. By the way, this news update on him just gets recycled every week. It's allways the same update. Feels like there's not much progression still.

Mentality chickens.

If Gala win by 1 goal that is. If Gala win by 2 or more, you will have the better goal difference. Obviously you would be 3rd regardless.
-
I think the only real hope is Longstaff, and he would be the only one for the next 5 games or more.. I've given up on Botman to be honest, I'm kind of just assuming that it's long term with him.
-
You're right, they would have to win the last game regardless if Sociedad win today, unless they beat Benfica by atleast 3 goals. I guess it makes sense.

Inter playing their reserves, or what? I guess getting 1st in the group is not really a priority. Lets hope Dortmund will care a bit more..

There's clearly a visible difference in fatigue between us and Man Utd. Which is not really a surprise, Man Utd actually has a bench to make subs and rotate from. So I don't want to hear @Froggy saying that fatigue will be just as big of an issue for them when their bench is 10 times better than ours.

I've heard how the VAR explains the referee why they think he was wrong while he is on his way to the monitor, and they keep repeating it. Isn't this a recipe for triggering confirmation bias in the referee when he sees the replay? They also seem to cherrypick the angles and the slow motions in a way that gives them the strongest case for their opinion on the situation, which just further enhances the confirmation bias with the referee. Danny Murphy raised a good point with Talksport, why don't they just say "I think you should have a look, just in case", and not tell him why they think he's wrong? That way they wont trigger confirmation bias as much. They should also show different replays than just one or two very slow ones, show one with a good view in full speed, or close to full speed. The confirmation bias thing is certainly a problem when you have a world class referee on the pitch making a good decision, and then you have a less competent referee in the VAR room telling him what he should be seeing his cherrypicked replay..

Do you know where to find a clip of it? I want to ask someone about it.

The last thing I want to do is to go on every PSG social media post for the next months to complain about that penalty, and laugh at them for everything that goes against them in the future, labelling it as karma. How are they like this? Is it because they have a history of bottling the league and CL, so they are bitter as hell, and think the whole world is against them?

So many referees are saying that this should never be a pen, even in Europe. It's not like every single handball is a foul in Europe. The raised arm was a normal part of his running movement.
-
Honestly, even going by their rules, it doesn't seem right. Definetly not clear and obvious. Does he move his arm towards the ball? Is the movement of his arm not a consequence of his body movement for the specific situation? And I'm usually the guy to point it out when referees do the right thing according to the rules, but they still get the blame.

But hey, did you see how much celebration VAR gave to the PSG fans yesterday?
