Let me rephrase - in this game we didnt lose anything because Tino had a pretty terrible game going forward and he was not really tested in defense. Could have done with Krafth there instead. And I am big fan of Tino (not to be first choice over Trippier yet mind) but if the goal was to have 3 atb then i would have preferred to keep Hall as the player to go forward.
-
Which then turned into the sale to Ashley. We should def keep it up, make this a royal PITA to PIF and help them decide it not worth the hassle.
-
If Howe really wanted to have 3 at the back in possession, he should have had krafth at right back, Burn at RCB, Kelly at LCB, and Hall at left back. You'd gain Hall going forward and his more aggressive stance. You'd get Kelly at his natural spot where he does have more playing ability, and you don't lose anything going forward with Krafth over Tino. Not ideal but feels more forward and progressive than what we had yesterday.

I like him and think he will be fine. He was not great today but it's because we invited semenyo to be a terror. I blame Howe for how he set up the team. If you had Hall he may have had a moment or 2, but also think the threat of him would have forced semenyo and Bournemouth to hit the brakes. We were on our back foot the whole time. It didn't help that Gordon and Joelinton had a surprisingly poor first half.

Tell that to Howe. Should have started Hall. I have a lot of patience for Howe and his coaching up is brilliant. But I thin he is in his own head. Hall was not half bad last week and it gives you more going forward. I thought Kelly was meh to poor. Just didnt contribute and as not particularly strong at the back. He seems unprepared/scared.

proper sunday league sequence over here. fucking hell
-
and there is a deadbrained sub.... Gordon did not look knackered at all. Why is he coming off?
-
we'd be up 2 or 3 by the first 30 mins if this was the starting 11. Fucking Howe, sometimes I dont get him
-
Pope coming off his line is so fucking refreshing. there would be 3 past Dubs already
-
Barnes deserves a a spot. Gordon on the right. Willock instead of Longstaff. WTF Howe.
-
Someone explain why this wouldnt be the starting 11?

I'd bite your hand off

Honestly I don't think we disagree. I don't normally open this thread and only got here by mistake. It's more about the whining to be honest. I'd be happy to discuss the merits or deficiencies in his game and performance like any other player. But that's not what thread is about. It's just whining. Mostly by the same posters. And then it leaks to other threads. Agree with not opening it. And I appreciate the comment on game threads but wouldn't it be better if people were not bed wetters and we could enjoy a game discussion even when we lose? -

Or just don't do it when the kids are in the other room. It's not about opening the door (this is my first time this thread since he was sold). Maybe if you kept it quiet people wouldn't have to knock on it and tell you to shut up. And really only reason to open this thread is because it leaks to other threads and this gets constantly bumped. Are there ways to pin threads to the bottom instead of the top? -
Unpopular opinion: the club willing to bid $60 for Olise and $65m for Guehi, and then not signing anyone that is not them is actually a good sign. It hand they are being disciplined. They have a plan and they know what they are trying to do. The last thing I want from the club is to get someone because there are a bunch of crying bed wetters clamoring for any signing. If they have a second choice then great. But I don't want them just signing Chiesa (JFC please stop) or some other stop gag CB just because "it's a disaster if we don't sign anyone". I'm totally satisfied if they don't sign anyone and come back in January. And I'll be ecstatic if they do sign someone they rate in this window. But the bitching about lack of signings is unbearable.

But this thread is the equivalent of them doing it in the living room. I would prefer if they just didn't. This thread gives you brain cancer. -
I can't get it to work either. Is there a different one?

Except there is no way villa get as bad of a draw as we did. And definitely not the kind of domestic cup draws we did. Eddie really played in hard mode this year and made a real go of it.
-
They have? I must have missed that. Nobody is paying that and they know it. They will let him walk on a free next year then.

I'm not sure I'm convinced myself but I'm a little surprised nobody has mentioned Nketiah as a possible #2/3 behind Isak if Wilson goes. He is on his last year at arsenal and no plans to renew. Should be cheap and low wages. His other alternatives are to go to a mid table team and no chance to win anything. I'm on the camp that Wilson has to go, unfortunately. It is the most financially responsible thing to do and what allows us to keep other assets. I reckon we can get 15-20m for him from a mid table. Bournemouth? Brentford? One of the promoted sides?

And this is the average fan... No idea how it all works. Just spewing whatever bullshit they see on tiktok. Not related. I don't even care if he is local or not, but those local should have a little more patience for him. I never wanted him at lb tbh, but fair play to him he showed up and did a job. Did a great job for the longest time. Until injuries changed the team and he was out in a difficult spot. But even then, he was the better fit for our system. He had a dip in form after playing too many games and more injuries creating more space behind (dubrabka was never the answer and should have stayed at man reds). Yet, he does more good than bad. If you replay all the goals given this season, I'll bet you $20 that there were as many or more goals with trippier at fault (and I love trips). People fail to recognize his defense and just want him to bomb forward and give him stick because that's not his game. When his form dipped they couldn't wait to pull the knives and blame him. Tl;Dr you and your kind of "fan" can fuck right off

Our dog shit midfield has been the same dog shit defensively the whole time burn was getting stick
