One quick comment on this Scottish school travel operators nonsense. I'd like to think that the club didn't know. Someone at the club did know, maybe more than 1 person. I doubt that Silverstone is looking at this. That someone or someones should be fired immediately. Not because of any wrongdoing but for lacking the critical thought to say "oh jolly there is so much demand for tickets from our members and these kids are buying tickets from travel operators, that don't seem right"

Alright, I've got a high fever so I'm probably talking shite. If the club cared about reselling why not implement something like this: If you buy tickets from a season ticket holder outside of the club systems, you get to go enjoy the game. If you report it to the club, the club will kick out that season ticket holder (and maybe ban them) and give you a slight discount in the first year. This will take care of all the scum just profiting from the club and will allow some movement on the season ticket holder list. You can still resell your tickets but it must be done through the club which would allow the club to "fairly"make them available to members etc. Thoughts? I bet all those season ticket holders reselling will tighten right up or they will let them go. Win win.

Ooof. I'm biased but... One was player of the year for the team that qualified to the CL. The other scored 23 goals in 190 appearances.

Now that our drama is over I'm finally able to look around and the Forest situation is going to get spicier. Nuno just left out most of his new transfers from the Europe squad, including Zinchenko and club record signing Hutchinson. This has to be Nuno just flipping Edu and Marinakis off because he can. To be fair, he has a bloated squad, and probably most players he didn't even want. So he has to make cuts and he was not going to cut the guys that got him there.

Fuck a loan, especially for Mainoo. Permanent transfer, fine I guess though I don't rate him as high as many. But to develop a player for them to go back to their club? Eddie Howe improving players is one of our biggest assets. It's stupid to give it away to a loaned player without obligation.
-
How much of that was the players just wanting away from that clown? I mean look at Xhaka! Going from Alonso to ETH had to be as steep downgrade as any player may have experienced
-
They would probably build it and then sell it to Manchester United

I do not care who they buy, how big the is the new stadium, or how nice the new practice facilities may be. This is embarrassing. I think every fan would have understood any kind of pain we may have had to pay to hold him accountable. I don't think any fan (I certainly don't) can understand this. Absolutely embarrassing for the club. I wouldn't be surprised to see PIF Out. Not that I agree but I can understand.

Doesn't look like Paqueta is keen on going to Villa...

We should follow the example from Stuttgart - they told Bayern to fuck off 3 times and then they sold Woltemade to us for a reasonable/market value (though still high). I hope the club does the same here. We should be in ok shape with PSR to be able to hold on to Isak until next summer and then do our best to move him to another league even if its at a slightly lower fee. This sets the right precedent and its the best thing for the club both short and long term, but primarily long term. We can always dump him in January in a loan with obligation or something along those lines.

The only downside is that Amorim might get sacked by the morning (as the Grimsby fans predicted)

lol great confidence booster selecting your expensive striker as last penalty taker before your gk
-
Oh definitely not blaming him. More calling out that with just a slightly different action from him, the narrative about his start, Gordon's ability as a striker, and the season outlook would be very different for a large portion of the fans who are just non-stop doom and gloom. Unnecessary negativity from my pov. Could it be better, yeah of course but I am not that fussed.

I just rewatched the game and 3 thoughts come to mind: 1. If Elanga passes that to Gordon a bit earlier and he puts it away - it changes not just the game and result but the fan's mood overall as well as the narrative around the team. 2. We were robbed of a penalty in the aftermath of the blocked shot, Barnes was fouled and it is wild that it was not given. Clear as day that barned got there first and he was kicked. 3. Cash did well to play off that blocked Barnes shot - it is clear to me that should have been reviewed and likely called a penalty. Hand was away from body and ball clearly struck the hand first. In general the team played well and while I agree that we missed having a better striker, I am not sure that the team would have played as well with someone else instead of Gordon. The press was way better with him and that created some chances. If Gordon puts a pass from Elanga away, there is less slagging off him as forward, and Elanga is seen as having a much better debut. The fanbase is fickle. I though it was a Howe master job with the adjustments in the right place. Unrelated to the game but the worst part of this summer is reading the negativity from this fan base with the wildest takes. I am not a happy clapper by any means and I can be annoyed but the way folks are talking about the club as incompetent is mind blowing.

But he picked Pope so he couldnt be that confident....

They dont need him (and i dont think he goes this window) but there is logic to getting him now if they believe he would stay otherwise. Next year could be a bidding war and cost them more. I assume this is the same reason Liverpool is doing everything they can to do it now for as little as possible.

You think we lost the last one? We were in a no lose situation. I am quite content with the outcome - keeping Isak. I would have loved to have his backfill in but it was a super long shot. And we forced their hand to move now and for more, rather than hold long term for Isak. They were forced to make a move or find themselves in a possible lose lose, no Isak, no Ekitike. From my pov, we are far ahead and would take another one on one
-
That was horrible from Pope. Pre season or not. Not a defense error IMO. You expect your GK to handle it easily. Targett has been as expected. Will do for 15-30 mins in a pinch. Willock doing his best to lower his fee. Completely out of his depth. Trippier and Schar looking rusty. Miley looking bigger and stronger. Osula a bright spot IMO along with Botman. Bruno in a different league to anyone else in the pitch. Barnes and Murphy looking like not interested in fighting for a starting spot (and I think Barnes deserves it over Gordon)

For the right deal I don't hate this at all. Much rather him than DCL who is actually shite and nobody can't change my mind

Looking at the table. Villa could be at risk if dropping as low as 9th and completely out Europe. A Bournemouth result here and they are right at their heels with Brighton and Brentford one point behind them. Villa will have to worry about looking behind their shoulder before looking up the table
