  1. But that’s probably what the club are trying to do, are they not? That’s the whole reason we’ve signed Isak, Bruno & Botman. The club are trying to progress, and get to the next level. Selling ASM gives them the opportunity to sign that elite winger, and in the process helps to alleviate the pressures of FFP. This notion too, that we have to spend £70m on a replacement, is nonsense. Barnes would be £40m, Lundstrom £35m etc. Could even do a Brighton and unearth a rough diamond for even less money. It’s just mind boggling not to back such ambition from the club, instead settle for mediocrity, and continue to deal with an injury prone player, who you only see for 1/3 of a season. If people are happy with that, then so be it. But if you want to get to the level of Man City, then you need to drastically alter your mindset, and become business savvy, and above all else, ruthless.
  2. 12.38 full games minutes wise over an entire season and you want to keep him? My god. The guy misses huge chunks of the season, every season. You’d happily put up with an injury prone player, instead of selling him, and helping the club overcome its FFP restrictions, while in the process bringing in top quality talent? Talk about holding the club back. The club wants to progress and go the next level, but some fans are just happy settling for mediocrity, and being all sentimental over one magical game every three months. Strange.
  3. Comparing to similar players in 22/23 Kvaratskhelia - Apps 34 games - 12 goals/10 assists Leao - Apps - 35 games - 15 goals/8 assists Vinicius Jnr - Apps - 33 games - 10 goals/9 assists Grealish - Apps - 28 games - 5 goals/7 assists Chukwueze - Apps - 37 games - 6 goals/5 assists Harvey Barnes - Apps 34 games - 13 goals Saint-Maximin - Apps - 25 games - 1 goal/5 assists Comparing to others, his stats showcase he’s not a genuine goal threat for the position he plays, compared to Europe’s elite. Assists is on a par level. Least appearances of all, showcasing his injury record. In the last four seasons (152 league games), he’s missed 41. I fully appreciate what he has done and did for the club during the Ashley era. However, the club dynamic has changed, and our FFP restrictions, means he’s our biggest saleable asset and is therefore expendable. He’s not elite, the stats prove that, and he has an awful injury record. He’s also lost half a yard of pace protecting those hamstrings, and in his attempt to press to the demands Howe requires. Time to sell.
  4. Exactly. It’s all sentimental, and that’s the problem. Some people are stuck in the past, when in reality, you need to move on, and be ruthless. This is business at the end of the day. Why are City where they are? Being ruthless on and off the field. As for ASM, I really don’t get the fascination with keeping him. It’s like you want to hold the club back, and aren’t seeing the bigger picture. FFP is a reality. Do you want to sign three new players to improve the squad, or do you want to keep an injury prone player, who misses around 13 games a season, has pretty poor end product, and is not ideally suited to Howe’s style? With the ASM money added to the remaining budget, you can easily improve the squad. It’s a no-brainer to sell.
  5. Got to be one of the worst rumours going. Anyway, I’ll bite. If Dyche could send us back the £40m we sent you for Gordon, then we’ve got a deal.
  6. Yeah, a few sources running this. Nothing really reliable though. If a Saudi club offers anything in the region of £35m+, I’d sell. Contract running down, and if he’s injury plagued this season, we won’t get anywhere near this fee next summer. A Wolves fan of mine sees this situation similar to Adama Traore. They should have sold two years ago, instead he’s just left for nothing. FFP regret right there.
  7. The majority of players going to Saudi are all Muslim. If only we had Papiss Cisse, Hatem Ben Arfa, Massadio Haidara, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Moussa Sissoko and Mehdi Abeid up for sale, we’d be laughing right now. Unfortunately, we’ve got a load of deadwood, non-Muslims, on massive wages, who we are having to pay off to kindly leave. Terrible situation for us.
  8. The rumours are nonsense. Club working on a different level of professionalism now, and all the journo’s have been given the cold shoulder. They ain’t got a scoobie. We ain’t spending £52m on Thuram. End of. Cucurella is on £175k a week. He ain’t coming. What will happen is, out of the complete blue, a name will suddenly drop from nowhere. Bid made, talks ongoing, and everyone on here rushing onto YouTube highlights. That’s how it pans out. All this Twitter crap is exactly that. Crap. Total waste of time.
  9. Seems people don’t understand that Cucurella is on £175k a week. End of our interest.
  10. Andersen for £25m ? No chance. If you want a CB, get Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer. Arsenal giving a rival Tierney on loan ? No chance. Chiesa was the king of Turin, pre injury. ACL ruined him, and the stats reflect that. 4 goals in his last 35 apps. It’s the reason he’s now available. I’d only touch him with a loan to buy, but I’d image Juve will only want to sell
  11. I don’t get the one light in midfield stuff. Guimaraes, Tonali, Longstaff, Willock, Anderson, Big Joe is more than enough until January, then re-evaluate. FA Cup doesn’t start until, post-Xmas, so it’s only three comps up to that point. Thuram seems overkill in midfield, for me. You don’t want to upset the squad dynamic too much, and limit existing players game time too much. LB & RW (Jesper Lindstrøm type) are the priority positions that need to be improved with the remaining budget.
  12. that’s the difference. It’s where we aim to be in five years time, and I’m glad the club are actively now going down that route with Minteh/Kuol etc. Chelsea & City can sell their built up over time assets for extraordinary fees, which protects them from FFP, something which we are unable to do. we’ve raked in £15m or so since Howe came and spent £300m. It’s why I’ve said you have to be ruthless in this business. We should have sold or sell saint-maximin this summer. We can’t afford to carry players who produce one magical game and then get injured and are out for 10 games. I love ASM but with the FFP clearly an issue, we need to consider it, and extract maximum value.
  13. If we don’t bag £5m from Darlow, I’d be disappointed, especially given he’s got two years left Lascelles is another one I think we could bag £8-£10m on. I’d sell and sign Tosin Adarabioyo for free. Would be great business.
  14. This is why the dreams of signing three more players for £100m combined was a fantasy. The Tonali deal was a big chunk. Depressing stuff, but we are miles ahead of where we thought we’d be. Still need another year of on field success, along with Ashworth & co sealing off field deals and sponsorship i still think there’s £50m there to spend, but the loan market could be an attractive route.

    Tino Livramento

That’s if you believe the post. Last I heard, the deal was complicated with this sell on clause. I personally doubt he is that short sighted, I just think we’ve pulled the plug, given Soton want north of £30m now. No chance anyone pays that. most of our business will be done low-key and probably from Europe/Brazil with reduced wage/fees.
  16. presuming they got Ferran Torres —————Watkins————-— —F.Torres—————-Ramsey —McGinn-Tielemens-Luiz—— Moreno-P.Torres-Mings-Cash —————Martinez————— Still doesn’t blow me away that line up.
  17. Targett isn’t good enough, I’m afraid. If you can’t displace Burn, then you know your time is up. If we could recoup £10m for him, I’d do it. Maehle would be my choice. Cheaper option at Atalanta (£15m touted), and fantastic going forward.
  18. Pretty much confirmed now that Pau Torres is signing for Aston Villa for €32m + €5m add ons.
  19. Felix Nmecha to Dortmund for €30m No chance we’d ever spend that on him.
  20. Kilman does a job, but he’s not elite. He’s a good size, but quite slow, so would suit Serie A. Wolves forums are amazed at the offer. Basically saying ‘we should snap their hand off’. Basically it’s a complete rebuild at Molineux.
  21. For me, we need a CM, attacking LB & genuine quality upgrade on Almiron. At a push another CB backup. Defenders linked - Maehle, Tierney, Livramento, Adarabioyo Midfield-Attack linked - Gallagher, Phillips, Thuram, Fofana, Diaby, Spertsyan, Lindstrom, Chiesa
  22. Bailing on Szoboszlai showcases the limitations we face. Remember, the club know we have very few saleable assets, and we still need three positions strengthened. No chance we blow £50m+ on Thuram. just goes to show that wolves can bag nearly £50m selling two defenders they don’t really want, yet we are releasing most of our dead wood on frees or paying them off.
