Disappointed but its the fine margins when youre playing the elite teams in these competitions its like playing a top 6 team every week and that is where we lack the technical skillset predominantly. As much as we love our squad and its attitude and application if we are all being honest we only have around 3 or 4 elite players. Dont get me wrong the rest are good players but they arent of that elite level that you need to compete in this competition against the rest of europes top teams on a regular basis It will come though it took City years to establish themselves as regular CL business end players. The difficult thing we have is ensuring we are in the competition to compete year in year out

As good as we think Wilson is the truth is he is not a Champions league level striker and i think that has shown in the 4 games he has been involved in. Hes decent as a rotating striker in the premier league but when youre playing up against elite teams you need that extra edge and dimension just like Isak has Id love us to go balls deep in for Osimhen and use Wilson as a 3rd striker option as going forward if we are going to want to go deep in 4 competitions every year then we are going to need 3 options up front for me

If we qualify we need to go into a play off with the 2nd placed teams from the groups in the EL to get into the last 16

The difference simply in these 2 games is 1 team plays in this competition year in year out and we dont and that has shown from how they played us. They are experienced and know how to win these kind of group games, it will come in time for us look how long it took City to adapt and progress to levels of where they are now Its disappointing but it is what it is no harm done it was always going to be an insanely tough group and i think weve faired pretty well. Just need to ensure we finish 3rd and have some european competition after xmas, if we finish 4th then we should just give the carabao cup one hell of a go

Absolutely i completely agree and it will hamper our progression for me. The likes of Dummet and Ritchie hanging around takes up 2 squad places and they are being paid for just being around in training. That could be better utilised for a squad player whos actually going to and good enough contribute on the pitch for me Going forward to compete at the top and in multiple competitions per season we are going to have to replace around 12 of our squad. Our first 15 is pretty decent but the drop off after that is terrible Also it highlights to me that the likes of dummet and Ritchie have no intention or inclination of playing football they just want to hang out with the guys who do and get paid for it. The likes of Shola used to get lambasted for doing exactly the same yet these guys get plaudits...its baffling

Their record is pretty rank average really, losing 6 out of 13 games is piss poor, Rotherham who are 2nd bottom have only lost 1 more game than them. They have a few decent individuals who i think will be poached by better championship or lower end prem clubs but as a whole they are a bang average championship side. Their fans are deluded as fuck if they think they are anywhere near one of the top sides in the league

beating someone 8-0 away from home is a huge anomaly i've never seen it before i've seen us score 7 away a few times but never 8. your'e absolutely right we are spanking teams regularly but what i was alluding to is your GD going up by 8 in one game is going to make it average out across the season that we will always have one of the best GDS if we continue to be as consistent as we have been the last 18 months. I can see us hitting 5 and 6 a few more times this season too the way we play certainly wouldn't be suprised if we hit someone for 7 at home

Mainly down to the fact we put 8 past sheffield united. That inflated the GD massively just like Liverpool always had a decent GD due to the 9-0 against Bournemouth last season. To wipe that result out wed need to lose 4 games by 2 or be spanked in 2 games. On current going thats not likely to happen so i think our GD will be amongst the best all season now
