I would have been delighted to have signed Phillips from Leeds. I genuinely thought he was a good centre-mid; excellent range of passing, good in the tackle and good positional sense, but the worry is that he's let his career stagnate without seemingly kicking up a fuss. He strikes me as someone who's happy picking up his pay, without really doing anything, and that raises a big question mark for me. I do think Howe could reignite that fire in his belly, though, but only if the price us right.

Good positional sense, though, but I do agree. We get cut open quite often when we over commit and don't have any recovery pace when getting hit on the break, which happens quite often
