I think our problem is, we go hell for leather, and if we go behind, we over commit and leave huge gaps between midfield and defence. We haven't got any genuine recovery pace in the middle. I think we're crying out for that defensive midfielder, someone who does sit and can protect. I think teams have figured out a way to hurt us, whether that happens with a fully fit squad, I'm not sure. I just think, in the long term, we need that holding player who is disciplined, and this Brazilian fella looks the business after my extensive YouTube scouting (I've watched 2 mins).

Probably because he hates women, and only picks on people he knows he could chin.

Who doesn't love a Brazilian!?

I agree. I was thinking more in the summer. We'd be commiting hari kari if we were to sell this window.

Anyone think we'll offload Bruno and sign this Ederson, or will it be the case of pushing through what would have potentially been a summer signing?

I think Barnes has something called "turf toe". I'd never heard of it until last week. We are talking about Alan, aren't we? Looking forward to Willock being back. He was in superb form before doing his hamstring. Hopefully see him back soon.

Step forward, Mr Hendrick.

It gives them a bit of respite on hating their club and themselves.

It was pretty large from what I seen.

To be honest, I thought he'd been there longer until I checked. My point still stands, that a player with more get up and go, would have made more noise. Maybe he has and I've just not noticed.

I've been to the RVI with my daughter today and seen big Joe in stirrups. He looked in good fettle, though.

I would have been delighted to have signed Phillips from Leeds. I genuinely thought he was a good centre-mid; excellent range of passing, good in the tackle and good positional sense, but the worry is that he's let his career stagnate without seemingly kicking up a fuss. Could you see Bruno happy to sit on the bench for big wages? I don't think he would. He strikes me as someone who's happy picking up his pay, without really doing anything, and that raises a big question mark for me. I do think Howe could reignite that fire in his belly, though, but only if the price us right.

No, James. Just been on Nick's LinkedIn there and I think he's the lead coach

You were still boffing gas when you were 17. Give the kid a break. He's not the finished article, but he's done pretty well considering he's been chucked in at the deep end.
-
Yeah, we were linked, too. Seems to have settled in well and would have given us a nice balance to push Bruno on a but further.

In Eddie we trust!

This bit can't be true "when struck off Fofana's Lamboghini, Gaffney landed arse first on his sister Sonya's trumpet". Mad if true!

Wait til you get the shits off the pie tomorrow

I wouldn't even know which players to suggest in that position nowadays with pace, because my knowledge of football, especially European football is nothing like it used to be.
-
Good positional sense, though, but I do agree. We get cut open quite often when we over commit and don't have any recovery pace when getting hit on the break, which happens quite often

My cousins son is the head of first team fitness and conditioning and he's been at the club before Howe started. He was at Southampton and came here under Bruce, albeit when he was quite young

I think if we'd had more players available we would eait until the summer, but I reckon our hand is being forced a bit because of the injury situation

I'd try to get Neves from Saudi
