  1. What have we done with being further forward if we don’t use the ball because we can’t hold it? People put far too much emphasis on a run behind. Easily could’ve saved £55m and just have Osula doing that.
  2. Bit of a meh game so far. Man City done nothing, we’ve done marginally more which as a home side you’d hope so. Wissa chance only thing in that half.
  3. I don’t think our play has improved at all. It’s just because he makes some sprints that people seemingly think it’s helping us, but it’s negligible. He’s been atrocious multiple games now at linking up play.
  4. Another minor muscle injury. Get a feeling that won’t be the last one we see this month.
  5. They were better in context. Gayle you knew what he was, a very limited 6 yard poacher, that was great for championship limited for prem. Rondon was a battering ram up top where you would get 90 and hold up play guaranteed.
  6. Hall getting pissed off he has fuck all passing options every time he gets it. It’s either back to CBs, dribble around players or go long.
  7. Shame this game is the first leg. Has all the hallmarks of ‘can’t win it first leg, but you can lose it. So if it’s 0-0, that’s no problem’.
  8. Think Wissa will comfortably end up being the worst number 9 in my living memory.
  9. Injury prone being one season with the knee injury?
  10. Key to what you said there naming those players, attack. We can’t sit off and let them find those in the pockets, we need to be aggressive so they’re under pressure to find them on transitions. When games are more chaotic, Man City are distinctly average. The risk though is they could be clinical for once and score all 4 shots, but often when it’s a chaotic game, they give up 4 clear chances themselves.
  11. O’Reily in CM is a choice, unless Pep is going 3-4-3. Come on Wissa, give us something tonight.
  12. It’s the 15th home game on the trot, people probably want a break from the pubs before.
  13. People will link training ground primary to first team, but having state of the art facilities is huge for attracting 10-16 year olds to choose us, and the best coaches in those age groups. They want to work in the best environments, their parents will want them in the best, and that’s where we reap the rewards. I long for having a proper academy generation where 2-3 come through an age group and are straight into the first team squad.
  14. Most likely another no mark that comes and goes without making an impression.
  15. I’d prefer if we went for someone like Ben White. If we’ve got Tino / Thaiw on the younger side, we can have someone like White who’s in his late 20s. Ticks box of more players that can progress the ball through passing and building up. Ticks box that he’s a RB but also RCB.
  16. Not nervous at all about this game. We’ve won this competition and now playing the best side of past decade over two legs. By the time we play them 2nd leg, they could have spent another £100m on two players. It’s a free shot for me, one we have no fear. Pressure for me is more on Man City, because Pep will not want to go two seasons without a trophy.
  17. Consistently finishing high, UCL runs, selling multiple fringe players (academy for pure profit, others for book value back). Then members of squad on lower wages as they broke out, all combined have them a big head room. Still do moving forward because Nwaneri / MLS could fetch huge sums if Arteta isn’t keen long term. Easy to forget they sold players like Balogun for £35m(?).
