  1. I get where people are from with Barnes / Mbeuemo are boring. If we’re against a deep side, they get the ball, not going to get off the seat to think something will happen, space to run into, sure. Still maintain we ideally need someone for RW that has some finesse to their play and can find that pass. Because it’s all on Bruno otherwise and too much of our game is dependent on high turnovers / space to play into.
  2. In fairness, Man Utd could have a back four of Hakimi, Militao, Saliba, Hernandez, and if ETH has them set up the same way as last season, they will still be conceding 20+ shots a game
  3. Played deep in a two, but it would be more Kessie / Bennacer who would do the real deep stuff which is what’s being talked about. Perfectly suited for us in that RCM role or even LCM, but wouldn’t want him doing what Bruno does and getting the ball on half turn deep etc. Just feel it’s an area where we do genuinely have a massive drop off if Bruno is out.
  4. People are losing their mind over this signing. 12 months ago he was no where. There’ll be another one to pop up from France next summer, then the one after that. Like over the years, Upamancao, Todibo, Badishille, Saliba, Fofana have all broke out young and hailed as the next thing. Really, so far only Saliba looks like the rolls Royce of a cb m. Everyone else, reasonable on their day but also with many clangers.
  5. We can’t break the wage structure or it’ll upset the squad. Would we have giving him £200k+ from signing direct from Leeds? He’s output and performances at Barcelona has not been any better.
  6. Playing long game? Knowing it’s going to get watered down at some point, we continue steps forward and get more collective backing for favourable rule changes in future that benefit us (and other ‘top’ sides).
  7. He’s 18. If he’s any good, that move will be there in future. Can’t keep track of French CBs. Churn them out like confetti where people go crazy over them
  8. Man Utd agree fee for Leny Yoro who has a high rep. Never seen him, so either Saliba future levels or Fofana.
  9. The justification for that wage though is him producing it on the top stage. Yea, if you play top level for 2-3 season for us you will get to that, but if you’ve done it at the top, and it’s with a big transfer fee, it’s expected to come with big wages. Players kick up a fuss about that, they know where the door is.
  10. Don’t know though who’s out there of a similar skill set, but I would bloody love a player of the same style to Mahrez for RW. Him at Leicester was that game changer who could produce all sorts of magic.
  11. Why can’t we afford Williams wage? What’s Bruno on? £180k mark? Wiliams has just won Euros being an important player, think wages of that with bonuses to take it to £250k would be valid and fair if we saw him as a legit talent to spearhead us to next level for next 5 years. It’s a gamble in terms of finances for me that would better than a gamble on number of squad players. I know Man City likely cheated the books, but they spent big wages on Yaya after finishing 5th. That Man City transfer spend between summer 2010 to summer 2011 is the levels we need to be doing this summer and next IMO if we are to take a stride forward. Which is established talent sprinkled in with big prospects at clubs just below the elite.
  12. The only thing that could sway Howe to be tempted, is the chance of leading England at a home Euros. Whoever gets the job after Southgate (if he does leave) will get the next two tournaments, unless World Cup is an utter disaster. Once in a life time chance really to lead country out at home. Euro21 was pretty much a defacto home Euros, otherwise it’s 96 last time. 25 years, and the earliest a World Cup will be back in Europe is probably around 2042.
  13. No thanks on Gnonto. Not seen anything special in him that warrants those fees. Not sure where the link is coming from, but get that nipped quick.
  14. Bruno can play further forward equally as top class, we don't have anyone remotely close to replacing Bruno in the deeper role with it impacting us. Tonali maybe closest, but he still wasn't used like that at AC Milan. Just more if we did target a CM, it needs to be that type of player IMO.
  15. Didn’t realise it was Germany we’re going too. Said I’d want Gordon to take a break to refresh (mentally more than physically as he’s had a rest for that), but wouldn’t be surprised if he joined up with team now
  16. Next 48-72 hours will see the domino effect start as clubs get deals signed up whilst players are on holiday/rejoining clubs for pre season.
  17. A nice rest for him, training with legit top talent which he would’ve learnt from and be motivated to improve. Now a weeks holiday and back to our squad to hit ground running.
  18. Deserved winners. LOL Calling up Gordon to never use him.
  19. Been touted to Man Utd? Either way, agent drumming up interest/better deal for his client.
  20. The key, pace on counter. They couldn’t cope with Rashford or Sterling either game in that Nations League, but what we struggled with, was getting any control.
  21. Gabri Vega. Use the Saudi connection to get a favourable deal and get him back in Europe. Wasted talent going out there, who’s all the bit the player Olmo is.
  22. I was thinking, how does it work on PSR, if say Burnley want £18m. And we sign him for £23m and Burnley then loan him for a season at a cost of £5m. Does that give us PSR profit?
  23. Feels there’s too much noise about Thiaw for it to happen, so fully expect us to in next 48-72 hours, confirm a bid accepted for a different CB.
