  1. Minteh potential rising every day. Why aren’t PSG in for him? I mean, even Jahanbakhsh smashed it in Eredivise and was a wet blanket in prem because defenders were better and didn’t allow it so easy to just cut inside. Minteh needs to play elsewhere before he’s cemented as a legit talent.
  2. Caicedo / Enzo / Palmer their set up. So which one do they drop? Or do they move Palmer RW, in which case, why the fuck are they targeting RWs? It’s not a good deal for Chelsea. Still got likes of Lavia who won’t get minutes. Sterling high costs on LW. It’s a very bloated squad that’s just kicking the can down the road.
  3. Ortega isn’t the greatest with his feet either when compared to Ederson, but he’s serviceable. Unless Man City spend very big on Maingan, the next keeper won’t be some elite passer and Pep will adjust.
  4. Deal collapsed as KDH wants Chelsea. Chelsea assembling such a bloated average squad. They’ll be saved by probably selling Palmer to Man Utd next summer for £80m+
  5. Selling Gallagher to bring in KDH would be jokes.
  6. If we’re all in on Howe, then I’m not concerned. For him personally, would come with added expectations and pressure, and if he delivered, superb. Doesn’t, club would just replace and the structure with it. Backing a settled manager with a settled squad, wouldn’t be so unwise.
  7. Must be close to Nickson getting it, and a reshuffle elsewhere and recruit.
  8. November feels ambitious. Likely be 3 months till full training and ready for games when he resumes light training, which case would be some time early August.
  9. Wouldn’t be surprised if one of Alison or Ederson is moved onto Saudi this summer and they replace them with Mama and within few months of season, people are lauding it as astute business.
  10. He probably does. Just a fair portion of people likely would prefer Mama over Trafford, at the expense of £20m, seeing as there’s no solid names linked at the moment for RW.
  11. He is, but this is a long term position at a possible good value. A keeper for next 6-8 seasons is some deal.
  12. If you are getting 15+ prem goals each season, sure, but he’s played through middle for some of that and having Barnes cut in on one side, and Bowen in similar vein on other is too similar if both were on pitch same time. Think we’ve seen the peak output for Bowen, and I would prefer a RW that can be more creative in tight spaces.
  13. Eze came on last game. I just feel he’s not fully fit and not been risked yet, even off bench. Like a normal ankle injury you’d be looking at 4 weeks or so, which would put him around this times scale to be back fully fit. Just can’t be stated enough IMO how much we kept getting Gordon back out there last season when he looked fucked after a tackle game before. Great short term, but wouldn’t want that to be a regular thing long term.
  14. Bowen is a transfer that should’ve been made few seasons ago. No point signing him now, better signing someone else long term.
  15. The only thing I can think for him not playing or even featuring yet, his ankle injury hasn’t been fully healed yet. And with other options, Southgate doesn’t need to choose a 90% fit Gordon, whereas we had no choice last season and patched him up and rolled him out each week.
  16. Said it other week, rather we signed Hutchinson from Chelsea then Madueke. Hutchinson looks every bit the player that’s ready for the next step. Feel he’ll have a higher ceiling long term.
  17. Would be pure profits in accounts from Minteh sale, and favourable terms to buy Cherki for accounts as part of the deal.
  18. Do we still hold any interest in Cherki? And could Lyon being actively interested in Minteh help with a deal there?
  19. Not to act as a smoke screen, but do believe the club work on 2+ players at same time, and when one looks more attainable, move for that, whilst leaking one of the players to use as negotiating tool.
  20. All hypothetical, but if by end of August we have got: £25m+ Minteh £15m Wilson £5m+ Targett £15m Almiron £5m Dubravka £2m+ Lewis I'd take that as a great first window of actually getting money for players. Hopefully Anderson get's a loan because he will need to be playing regularly next season to assess what his level really is long term. This with Dummett / Ritchie / Hayden off the books too is a fresh slate we need for actual squad building. Room for the 4 buys, GK/CB/RW/ST. Maybe even a bit of creativity, like Trafford on loan with a slight increase in price for permanent buy on 25/26 books.
  21. Deal agreed with a different player in 3 2 1 ...
  22. One thing I like about DCL, his power in the air. Good movement off the ball, caused us problems at Goodison last season for both of those, even though he did miss a proper sitter The price will be too much when over £20m, but got to trust club they see it as a worthwhile spend for next 3 seasons and DCL happy with a reduced roll that doesn't rock the dressing room with moaning. Feel people will lose their mind too much over this, when the RW and CB are the big transfers this summer to improve the side. Like we could have a XI of First XI: Pope - Livramento, Schar, New CB, Hall - Bruno, Tonali, Joe - Gordon, Isak, New RW Back up: New GK - Trippier, Botman, Burn, Kelly - Miley, Willock, Longstaff - Barnes, DCL, Murphy (Botman as back up due to injury for majority of season). It's a team and squad moving forward. With 2025 then taking next step with players from Howe first 6 months moving potentially on (Like Trips / Burn / Willock) for a new CB, CM and RB. Think 2 to 3 first team signings each season is the going rate. Which would be RW/CB this season, and GK the arguable 3rd depending who it is and when they take over number 1.
  23. It's the one thing I will never understand about us under Ashley. Guy was tight, and wanted club operate at a minimal cost. Then why not just invest loads into academy, produce players, and keep them moving on at a good profits all whilst maintaining the Prem money. Just felt a straight forward strategy, but never followed it. After the Carroll move, it should've been a light bulb moment for doing that, but nope. We would've had a ceiling just being an outright selling club, but would've had some fun players come through the doors. Instead it's sign the likes of Hendrick, where it's low cost, but then no resale.
  24. A real talent that’s not attainable elsewhere in the future?
  25. We should in years to come have many more come through. Guy has had one good season in a very weak league. More chance he’s just your average player long term then some superstar talent that won’t come again this decade.
