And to get that will require 10 wins from 10 at home, unless we go on a mad one away. Are Liverpool and Chelsea going to finish on less than 65 points will need to be discussion if we are to qualify for Europe. Winning at Man Utd will be the start of shifting my view we can change away form and get the points we need away.

Any form of Europe and I’m buzzing. There’s usually 7 spaces (maybe 8 depending on cup winners / extra spot for UCL) and if all sky 6 qualify as they should do really giving their wealth, there’s only 1-2 spaces left which is between us and Villa, without anyone else gate crashing from a really good season (like Forest).

Suppose it will come down after 27 games if we will be 5 points off UCL, or have 41 points. That really does feel bare minimum.

An advanced CM. He can play centrally and drift into those wide left areas if needs be.

Rodgers is what we need from a CM.

Massive moment for us if Fernandes has pulled a muscle. Suddenly fancy our chances against them if so.

Aaron Ramsdale: return to Southampton confirmed
Sibierski replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
He’s done ok. I don’t want to sign him as our number one because of the perception he has (shoot and you will score), but happy to stick with him for rest of season to support with transition to this type of goalkeeper (building from the back). On multiple occasions yesterday he fizzed a ball into either Burno or Wolte and it immediately took us from a defensive shape to attacking opposition defence, and that’s what we need to move towards next season. Ups and downs with it for rest of season, but that’s the blueprint. Someone pointed it out earlier/elsewhere, that Ramsdale can be our Bravo for Man City. Where it’s a clear change in direction of travel from previous keeper, even if that previous keeper ( Hart / Pope) are not bad goalkeepers. -
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (playing for Leeds United)

We create chances for whoever plays up front for us, shown by Gordon missing loads when striker. DCL would've scored a good amount and he was someone I was happy to go after once Wilson was off as he was a freebie for 2 seasons with potential sale once we showed he was useful. Instead we have Osula, who once sold we will need to replace in squad. And whilst Wissa will come good (hopefully) he was a signing we had to pay insane premium on because of a lack of strikers. -
We did in the final 20 because it was you attack, we attack. The fact Chelsea didn’t make the most of that in final 20 shows their lack of quality, rather than us being good We were fucking awful for first 25 mins of that 2nd half. First half we were superb, last 20 we created some great chances. Christ, can’t point of how bad we were for a period without it being seen as only negative. Can’t criticise the god again.

That’s true, but he came in mid season when we had a settled side and he was played in a number of positions. Elanga has pretty much been just RW, more established, and looked every bit worse then Gordon has ever looked.

He won't last the weekend

They're being outplayed by 9 men.
-
Liverpool worse than us for game management.
-
This is Thomas Frank side. About as attacking as it will get this.

Hope that's his ACL gone.

That's a red.

Just saying a worldie and slip is all that it was 2nd half completely ignores what happened. Garnacho had like 4+ shots inside our box that half. They were running through at will for like 25 mins non stop that 2nd half from the moment it kicked off We had chances to win it thanks to the sheer open nature of that game, rather than anything tactical 2nd half.

Liverpool win today it’s 6 points off them and Chelsea. With both to play away (and many other hard away games) and it’s very hard with all the other cup games we have. We effectively need to get 46 points from next 21 games IMO. Which going back to the away games we have to play, that’s going to be near impossible. Thrown away too many points early on in this season.

Felt like it was Howe greatest hits today’s game. The first half, pressing, man marking, intent, all coming from the training pitch and what we know of us from 22-23. Second half, slow start, off it, no changes, momentum all gone, equaliser before changes. Midfield wide open, nothing done to stop that. The good and the bad. There is a major mentality issue with our squad because we can play well (shown first half) but any adversity like 2nd half and we crumble. Mix that in with Howe often a dear in headlights in those situations which contributes and it just constantly feels like one step forward, one step back. I’ve written off getting UCL this season. At best it could be 7th, but think even that will be hard with the away games we have to play. 60 points will be a shock to me, because I think we’ll struggle to get even mid 50s. Just got to finish above Sunderland and/or win a cup now.

Sunderland late winner incoming.

He was great like everyone else first half, then was done fitness wise like everyone else after 55. So needed to come off earlier then he did, otherwise people remember the mistakes from tiredness rather than the good parts.

About 9 in 10 people think that’s a foul. Even Chelsea players will be laughing in changing room at Chalobah at how he got away with it.
