Gambling malarkey aside, it probs does do a number on ya joining this club. I imagine it's sold as up-and-coming, backed by the richest of the rich, aiming to win the league in the next 5 years™. New stadium, new practice facilities, likely increased wages and the adoration of a football-obsessed city that will love you. Few years in, usual shite at Benton, stadium is nonexistent, DoFs as resilient as Liz Truss, can barely recruit talent unless it's 8th on the list and at exorbitant prices. Trying to be objective here, though I can clearly see saying all of the above makes me look nowt but negative. I do love this club, just want us to do better from the top-doon. I won't blame players for moving on, unless they act like the rat.

Dislike the lack of proactivity at times, the favouritism around selection and unwillingness to play youth at times, and this year he's said a couple of questionable things. That latter point I would never have expected from Eddie with how good he is in the media typically, but so be it there are far worse managers in front of the camera. All that said, I want Eddie to stay and succeed despite gripes. The positives outweigh the negatives and I think he's driven to improve and succeed. That motivation may not be enough, circumstances can sometimes be too much but I'm holding out hope.

Think we always knew Sandro was here for limited time. I can't imagine the mess of a summer, the transitional season where we're up and down, and the arrival of his firstborn hasn't stirred things up. Hopefully we get a good wedge and can bring in that Smit or whomever else we rate highly with the proceeds. Edit: By good wedge I mean more than the £70m touted in the last couple pages. That's far too low like.
