Aye he's a free agent. Think he was linked with West Ham some point. You might be right about him as a rotation piece. You can see atm we are lacking a bit of depth in terms of a midfielder who is defensively sound. Sure Big Joe and Miley will come back to fitness but if Tonali goes we'll need some cover in terms of a ball-winning and in duels. If he was loads of cheddar we'd have reason to worry but should be fine really if that goes ahead.

Why is the purposeful thing the crux here? Is is not as simple as he (like Sandro) played poorly because they're head and heart aren't in it? Remember when it was almost a done deal of Gordon to the dippers, even Gordon thought he was offskis. His head was gone and he struggled, even admitting so publicly. Now Gordon rebought into team it seems. If you believe Sandro wants off (like I do) then could we convince him to reinvest into us? I think that'd be harder to do as seems likely he wants to be home on Italy, raise his fam there etc.

Arguably the best, no? If the argument was that there's too clear a line between wealth and results, and the rules have moved us closer to parity surely that's for the best?
