I don't mind Spurs supporters generally, its more that I despise Levy and the whole money, marketing, getting the NFL in...I see them as having gotten Cartel status because of financials and enriching some of the power brokers. I don't think they deserve this status they've got. And God damn it I just hate Levy, and of course Waddle, Gazza, Ginola.

It’s a slightly different situation though, the Glaziers borrowed to buy. A new stadium would signify that they are likely in for the long run I’d have thought.

When Howe was appointed I watched that interview he gave high performance. Gave me very high hopes and I always remember this when we’re going badly. I do think she needs to acknowledge we need to appoint some world class coaches. We need more variety in how we play. If teams don’t play from the back and allow us possession, it’s absolutely brutal, and I don’t know how it hasn’t been addressed. Occasionally you see the midfield trio link up in quick movements cutting open space, but it’s never built on. We don’t continue it. Possibly we don’t have the squad, need a proper 6? I don’t know but hopefully Eddie sees the need for big changes. From academy, scouting, recruitment and team play. Of course Howe gets too much blame, what are the board doing except experimenting with seat pricing.

If we’re ever going to challenge well need the ability to do both, this and last year it’s shown that in crunch games when pressing and shithousing isn’t enough, we don’t have the ability to create. And it’s not like it can’t be done with the players we have at full strength, especially with an addition or 2. Managers have to adapt and find more ways of solving problems. I hope to Christ he can but I think you’re right.

This is is, we play Southgate football in possession and it makes everyone look worse. Thats football made for a team of Longstaffs, not Tonalis, Nicks, Bruno’s, they need high tempo, inventive football. But Eddie was a centre back wasn’t he?

Has to be said the problems go far beyond Howe. The people running the club were supposedly ailing ti make us no1. On the pitch Howe has overachieved and our board backed us well the first couple of years. Since the power struggles or whatever happened, it’s a shambles. We won’t challenge regularly until we buy players whose value and quality rises quickly. While the team has been top 5 the board and sporting operations has been top 12 barely the last couple years. Signings have always been one of Howes less impressive areas. We need to get better off the field before we have a hope of competing regularly. Then, when we have a decent squad and some variety, if Howe can’t show some flex, I’d consider someone else, don’t know who, but someone

I have to somewhat put the form down to the coaching staff. Our midfield when we aren’t able to press has been shockingly poor. Mid table teams with half the wages make far better use of the ball. It’s a been a problem for a long time now (aside from when the press is working). We’ve not been able to get any fluidity in the midfield 3 and it’s been costing us for a while. If I was Tonali I may well think my game won’t improve from here, I only have 6-7 more years, do I want to stagnate on 150k or improve and get paid double. We sold him a project and the board is a shambles. Off the pitch we are a bottom half club. The players have been poor but the same way I don’t blame England for the Southgate performances, I find it hard to blame the players…except for the ridiculous passing and lack of composure at times, but again staff needs to sort it.

I think for a lot of realistic supporters this is the key issue. When we were taken over I didn't expect us to be in the CL within at least 3 years, and that would have been amazing. We've done it twice in 4 seasons? And won a cup. Eddie has done amazingly well, it will never be fully appreciated outside Newcastle what he's achieved given what he had. The frustration is the board and all the parts which are meant to give fuel to the team on the pitch have regressed significantly since Staveley left. PSR was holding us back always, so why, with all the money in the world have we not built a structure designed to mitigate that as much as possible. Has our scouting department improved to be amongst the best in the world? Our recruitment, our facilities. All the people involved in running a successful club, we need to try to get best in class. The negativity comes from fans seeing no way forward, because it seems the board have not come up with any solutions to the PSR problem when they've had years to do so.

When it comes down to it, it seems to be midfielders and attackers we’re in danger of losing or tha we need to upgrade. Our footballs been awful, results awful. League qualification for CL gone bar us playing way better and other teams dropping off. So, play high tempo football. Take more risks, train attacking patterns. We need the midfield 3 buzzing and wingers buzzing round moving teams thru our movement, Tonali, Bruno having a relationship, it’s so stale in there, so predictable. Just entertain, let the players off the leash. Worst case Tonali scores a few, Willock an Joelinton might actually play well on instinct, they’ve got no iq, only Bruno and Sandro scan the pitch. We may concede an drop results, but we need the attack

Someone said something like ‘some players are beginning to doubt the project, and it’s short and long term ambition’. If players did sign up on this promise, I wouldn’t blame them for thinking it’s way off track with nobody looking like stepping in. Us achieving so much so quickly meant we needed to capitalise and become a big club in terms of staff in all areas. Everything has stagnated. If we had Isak instead of Big Nick, we’d have a few more points, but those questions would remain.
-
Think this is the first season where players have gone backwards under Eddie, really need to find an identity quick…id like us to be far more high tempo, and I’d like to see us play a higher line and get players closer together, but wonder if Nick is able to run well enough to maintain a constant press
-
Pretty sure Tonali looks much worse because of our style. Hes not a technician. Hes far more Gattuso with more box threat. Hes always looked best when we play high tempo football. The football has been insipid and anaemic since we started this possession style football with less pressing. Tonali should be for breaking up play, pressing, short passes and crashing the box. Hes not a never will be a playmaker , our midfield have absolutely no connection with each other and it’s been like that for ages .

Was always surprised Bayern didnt break the bank for him. After Robben and Ribery they’ve been content with wingers who think they’re at that level…can’t have players in the squad, especially key players who think about winning all the time, not if your gunna win big trophies.
-
A forward looking club with proper execs and fluid decision making structure would have an improvement ready to cut a deal. Don’t see why we should sell without, God knows there’s a small pool of players who can replace Willock lol
-
he does, and hopefully we can find some time to train certain players in certain parts they are weak at, because we aren't that far off.
-
If they were willing to go 60-70 for Tino i'd take it, simply for the fact he's had a second knee injury, which was always a massive risk for us...Hopefully Man City can look past it... not that I don't want him to be part of our core, but of our youngsters, Miley and Hall seem more likely to be available more over their careers
-
He needs to develop some aggression or he won't make it, the veganism is ominous. Hopefully BDB can light a fire by dominating him in training.
-
Joelinton now, a groin injury and all. Just as he started to look back to his best. Seems we need to upgrade that position, so either Big Joe is a rotation option or sadly moves on.... the inuries only continue to pile up once you've had a couple hamstring, groin tears, or ligaments sprains/tears. Makes me very worried for Tino. And my prediction on the rat came true, it was a matter of time before a serious groin injury, and it won't be his lasT. Hopefully we got him at his best. Our transfer policy of signing players off injuries needs to go out the window though, its so risky its unbelievable. Willock had loads of serious injuries before we bought him, to both knee and the muscles in his legs. Injury history needs to be prioritized in signing players in future. We've gotten lucky thus far, but its starting to run out.
-
True. My reaction to his performance is, if he can get near his old form from now we finally have a midfielder who can link up with Tonali/Bruno, run with the ball, find a pass, scare defenders on the edge of the area. Having seen a few training ground videos he strikes me as not fully committed to doing everything needed to get to the top. But a good end to the season gives us much better options and hopefully we can get 20-25 for him if he plays well. Was good to see Ramsey and Elanga possibly turning the corner as well. Just need it in the prem, away now. If we can actually play some football in the middle of the park we become a far, far better team.
-
Must be his da's having a shit time at work and he's after taking it out on wor Nick, gunna need em to get back to work and put it to bed
-
First thing my dad taught me at about 6 years of age, and kept telling me til I never closed em, not even at night
-
Qarabag the easier draw obviously, but I'm hoping for a win against Monaco where Eddie gets a good look at some of their young stars and agrees a deal for a few there and then, to be unnveiled with no competition at seasons end.
-
How heartening was it that we gave it to PSG on a night where Ramsey and Willock were in midfield and Miley at RB. Goes without saying Miley just continues to amaze, but Willock and Ramsey, and even Elanga all looked like actual useful players. If we can get consistent performances to what these lads have done in the past it immediately makes our team twice as good. Please God, for those 3 to kick on from here and be assets, it'd be absolutely key to us winning away games and blitzing the second half of the season instead of limping through. Brilliantly done by Eddie tonight, I couldn't have expected such a performance.
-
Was gunna say, I'd have assumed sprained ligaments. If his ankle ligaments were torn, they'd say 'Bergvall is out with torn ankle ligaments'.

I said we could fend off to a greater extent, and add to that the fact that prior to this season we had a stronger team than Brighton. Consider if we'd had a Caceido/Baleba, Murillo/Hjuisen, Mbuemo/Cunha/Sememyo over the last couple years. Aside from that, we will see this summer that we are far more vulnerable to losing our best players this year having signed Ramsey, Wissa, Elanga because 7-8th place is a high target for us to be aiming for in reality. And we have no talents coming through to replace those who will demand a higher level this summer. A couple summers ago we were dying to spend 65 on Guehi, when Thiaw was available for 25-30. There were numerous players who signed for mid table clubs that summer for 10-20 million who have since tripled in value and would have immensely strengthened our side.
