its brutal to see club above us in PL in terms of PSR advantage how many flops they can get away with. Mudryk 75m, Nkunku 60m, Joao Felix 50m, Sancho 75m, Antony 80m, Hojlund 70m, Darwin Nunez 75m etc no problem Ekitike, Isak can come in, Cunha, Mbuemo, Sesko can come in, Bynoe Gittens, Pedro Neto, Delap, Joao Pedro etc all can come in + being able to afford much higher salaries too. while I feel if our recruitment were not as fantastic as it was with likes of Gordon, Livramento, Hall, Guimaraes, Botman, Isak etc we would struggle for 3/4 windows to set it right...

Looking at this chart, not many awful teams making CL this season. Maybe Champions of Serbia, Hungary look like the ones who could lose most of their games, but I think each need to win 3 qualifier rounds to get here so wont be complete mugs either. other than that we can even end up with Monaco/Bilbao from Pot 4 who are very decent sides and especially away from home we might not beat them. We deffo need some luck on the draw unlike 2 years ago with the group of death... We need to get the weaker sides in most pots to have a good chance to finish higher up in league stage. Will make a big difference if we get Brugge and Frnkfurt from Pot 2 or it will be Leverkusen and Atletico. Dont think we get Dortmund from Pot1 but that means we get 2 of Barca, Real, PSG, Bayern, Inter. Funny how we are rock bottom in terms of coefficients. we really need to work on that next few years, as lot of the cash prizes are actually handed out in CL based on that. We again going to end up with peanuts compared to other English clubs on prizes unless we go real far.

did we get any new sponsors this summer ready to get with our CL season and extra exposure we get from it?

Aaron Ramsdale: return to Southampton confirmed
Famous Nick replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
it saves us money to spend on another department. but he is only a marginal improvement on Pope if any at all. albeit much better than the other 6 GKs we have who now all can be sold imo. we really dont need 5/6 adult GK's at the club. lets have Ramsdale, Pope a youngster GK and sell all the rest. -
Ollie Holt has really in it for us. Again he managed write complete joke articles effectively praising PSR to stop Newcastle. not even gonna link it...

McAtee for 30m imo not a bad transfer. Can see Forest picking him up and selling for 45/55m in two years time.

Man City was all over the place after their takeover (no PSR yet), but the evolution was for them to sign Soriano as CEO and Txiki as DoF who both served them well for more than a decande now and both had high level experience from their Barca years which helped them to get Pep G. too. we need a serious CEO, and serious DoF too, and now we see what happens as we have neither.

as I said earlier I think its probably 5th of August when we train next in Newcastle after we re back from Asia. no way he still doesnt join training at time even if with soft injury he needs to be around. that will be just more lies if he still doesnt turn up at that time. I woud make him train alone, running straight for 5 hours with sprints... will be uncomfortable if he trains and Howe and players start to ask him about this shitshow. I bet he hopes Liverpool pulls the trigger by that time and its Tuesday next week.

Btw this window seems to be rather quiet for the likes of Brighton, Bournemouth, WHU too compared to some previous years. Bournemouth lost quite some quality, Brentford too and the manager as well. its really only the usual suspects spent high so far who are already way ahead of the rest in revenues and salaries. I expect bit of scramble last two weeks of August, PL wise, as lot of clubs didnt even make one transfer or one that is changing their best 11. They are just passive imo as PL clubs much richer than other sides in other top leagues like Spain etc in terms of mid table, lower half sides. this will just cause that the 5/6 rich clubs will just get away more from the rest. what happens to us I dont know but my simple prediction is that the CL will take a lot out of us and it will result something like 10 points less in PL unless we can seriously strengthen on the squad we had in May. thats why Howe said early on we need to be quick in the window and target quality incomings, but here we are getting a bit desperate now after missing out on quite a few targets leaving less tie to dig up new targets and negotiate for them. players might think as well where the heavy recruitment we hoped to give us extra momentum going into a very hard season.

if he goes to Liverpool I bloody hope either Chelsea, City, Arsenal win the league. I want to see Liverpool not win it despite this brutal high spend. Wirtz, Isak, Frimpong, Mamardashvili, Kerkez. circa 400m. they make a fair bit back on sales but still its brutal spending on top of a side that just won the title. even a 2nd place is a big disappointment and anything less than CL semifinals.

I think this summer its working particularly just as intended. likes of Villa, Newcastle seriously shit on by PSR, as we either cannot spend or the few elite sides ringfenced by PSR can just pick our targets and offer more fee and even more salary. badly underperforming sides like Man Utd despite their horrible year and another year out of CL can still spend bigger and afford higher salaries, giving them much better chance to close on top5 than any other side that finished close to them.

just how stupid Everton and Forest feel that with this trick (women side sales) they could have simply plug the PSR gap before their points deduction decisions (just like Villa did now). chelsea have incredible lawyers who are checking the rules and finding these funny loopholes. first they came up with 8/9 year contracts which has been now changed for PSR but the original few transfers they had to accept with those terms for amortisation. then selling two hotels all counting toward PSR. then women team sale for 200m, all counting... PIF, I am not sure they are that much interested.maybe if we would be about to get done by PSR they would try to push something through. but that would require us to improve the wages and the transfer spend big time , and we were careful of that last summer not to do that.

Ortega being sold this summer, and Ederson next summer. Actually Ederson contract is expiring next summer, doubt they renew with him. feels like he is past his prime. if Trafford can impress in goal for them, Guardiola may stick with him but a few blunders, given away balls under pressure, and a new top GK will be signed next summer for #1 spot. this season I think Ederson still #1 with Trafford getting most domestic cup games and maybe easier CL games and a few PL games. btw Ederson never felt to me a great keeper, but great with the ball and helping from building from the back a lot, also some stunning assists. but when he had to save shots, Allison, Raya imo better.

I would look at French league. Botman, Guimaraes came from there and both turned out to be great with 35/45m range. or the NL Eredivisie. likes of Timber, Kudus are not bad imports to the PL. Antony not so much but he has been mismanaged at Man Utd maybe like many at that team.

PIF needs to get involved here, they may think CEO and Mitchell is still doing there bits? someone needs to tell them that neither of them currently doing anything and Howe trying to keep the ship from sinking on his own. huge need for a new CEO and DoF. we need them yesterday basically. but next news will be I guess to read that one of the Saudi clubs just paid incredible money for some big flop of Man United or Liverpool. at least do it on purpose and offer 200m for Darwin Nunez with one condition, that they have to offer 250m for Isak. basically they get Isak for 50m net and it helps us bit more PSR wise hahahaha

this summer is bloody hard for fans to but for him it must be brutal. huge season ahead, the 8 CL games wont be easy with some heavy hitters of Real, PSG, Bayern, Barca, Atletico, Napoli etc, he needs a bigger squad with more quality and remember he said end of May he talked with management and agreed that we need to be quick and decisive in this window. also there is bit of expectation to try to win CL place once again, which will be much harder as I cannot see Spurs, Man Utd so shit once again they might not jump up that quick to 4/5/6/7th places, but will be harder to get points off of them, while City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea already spent huge to improve and not done yet. Chelsea still going to get Xavi Simons, Garnacho, and the Ajax guy. Arsenal still going to add Eze (their net spend will be sick, above 250m easily), City still looking for RB (Livramento sadly). Spurs will surely add some decent players after the MGW shitshow. Liverpool coming for Isak lol. all our main rivals are in sick transfer mode, maybe apart from Villa so far who has just hit the FFP ceiling a bit. lets hope the remaining less than 5 weeks the club will be able to provide Howe with a sick transfer activity where the squad ends up being stronger than it was and bit deeper too. must be draining for him given he actually much involved in all this, while likes of Arteta, Slot, Guardiola all sit back and get tremendous help from their DoFs, nobody doing much here helping out Howe.

Wilson, Longstaff out Elanga, Ramsdale in I thought we will be much further ahead in transfer end of July. and thats before all the Isak drama which adds an extra level of shit to this. there is lot of money to spend just based on the offers we couldnt close like for Trafford, Delap, Pedro, Ekitike etc, thats before the big money we might see from Isak which should be top top record deal. we simply need to work hard to get targets in now until start of PL to lift the mood otherwise if we leave it for last week of the window each target will just cost more as we will be desperate and clubs aware we have shit load of Isak money to spend.
