It is the first major partnership for JAXX, a division of German betting and lottery operator FLUXX AG. It is one of the newest U.K. betting companies, targeted to go live in September. The deal was part of JAXX's strategy to get a hold in the new market. "The launch of the JAXX brand in the UK is all set for the beginning of September, which ties in perfectly with the new Premiership season," said JAXX UK managing director Mark Irvine. "We are actively seeking partnership agreements with big-name clubs, and the Newcastle deal represents a great opportunity for both sides. Newcastle said it had been hunting a new partner, and said JAXX left a solid impression. "We have been reviewing the club's betting affiliation for some time and it was felt that now was the right moment for a new partner," said Darren Venn, director of commercial affairs at Newcastle United. "We were very impressed by the freshness and vitality of the JAXX brand, as well as the clear ambition to become a major player in the UK market."
