Guest BooBoo
Judging the mood of Newcastle fans at the moment, its clear to see theres a fair bit of disgruntlement at our lack of progress in bringing in strikers. I think given anything less than a positive opening half v Wigan on Saturday could lead to that annoyance becoming vocal. Whats the betting on first chant of "Attack attack attack!" And there's one man who always seems to take the brunt of it- Shola. I realise he's not everybodys cup of tea but surely Saturday is the time to really get behind him and show some support rather than the usual rants of FOFUXSAKESHOLASHOWSOMEPASSIONANDSCORE!!! if he hasnt bagged one in the opening ten minutes. Its not his fault that between them, our chairman and manager have made a complete pigs ear of the transfer window, culminating in the ridiculous (and i have to take A.Os word here) belief that Kuyt is worth about £5million. Shola is at the moment carrying the weight of our goalscoring expectations and should be showed a bit of support.

He's a couple of year away from what should be a peak age for a striker and he hasn't even showed enough consistency to be a good Premiership striker, nevermind a great one. See that is what annoys me mate, people are easily fooled and willing to accept second best, the very thought of Shola being up there alongside Henry,Sheva, Rooney and co in the goal scoring charts is nothing short of a fantasy and laughable

BlueStar
and who do you surgest we paly? I surgest we prechase someone! Leazes1986
We've got 2 weeks to bring in some new faces. Saying "who do you suggest we play" is the sort of attitude which gets you nowhere. A bit like why we've won fuck all for years.

They can't ask for us to get behind them anymore than we already do. He's been around since 2000/2001. It's his fault he gets the stick he does. Theres nothing more we would like than him to be our 25 goal a season striker, but it just isnt gonna happen. Nobody should even think about blaming Ameobi being poor 95% of the time on us not getting behind him because that is just total nonsense.
