Dokko
SSN HARRY STAYING AT POMPEY Harry Redknapp has decided to stay at Pompey. This follows speculation in the week that he would take the vacant managerial post at Newcastle, following the departure of Sam Allardyce. Redknapp informed Pompey Chief Executive Peter Storrie of his decision at the training ground this morning. Redknapp spoke to Newcastle about the job but felt that he wanted to stay at Fratton Park. The Pompey boss will take charge of the side as normal against Sunderland at The Stadium of Light on Sunday. Storrie said: "We're absolutely delighted. We've been in lengthy discussions with Harry, who has now been linked with three big jobs - Tottenham, England and Newcastle. "It speaks volumes about his desire to see Pompey succeed that he wants to stay here. "Harry feels that there is still a job to do here. "We have moved forward tremendously but he feels there is still more that can be done. "Hopefully, myself and the club's owner Sacha Gaydamak have persuaded him to stay as much as his family have. "Harry spoke to Newcastle and it was a great opportunity for him. "He went away and slept on it, then we met first thing in the morning at the training ground and he told me he wanted to stay. "We then got Sacha on the phone - he was delighted. "Then we rang Newcastle to let them know. "Harry staying has taken a huge wrench away from my stomach." James
Bad news if the alternatives aren't good. There were some positives about Harry, like he had signed over the last couple of years players that we would have liked to have signed.

Mick
It's hardly great news is it, being turned down by a s*** manager like Redknapp. He was obviously who Ashley wanted all along and now they've probably got no idea. He's not shit.
Guest Guinness
A bit of a shambles tbh, we sacked Sam without even having someone lined up. If Redknapp was our first choice, who's going to be our second choice?
Guest Phil K
Big deal. BOO HOO, Sure he would've developed the shakes so far from the SARF. Thank f*** for that! Mark Hughes or Shearer.
