Sent home after 2-3 days here of his trial for not being fit...has started in 18 of Racing Santander's 19 games which has seen them move upto 6th just a few points off the Champions League spots.

Cheers for Alan Smith, Sam.  :clap2:

This is a bit bloody tenuous, isn't it?  What next - Allardyce pictured with Sunderland top on while shagging Tweedy etc. etc.

This thread is a bit harsh and a "grass is greener" type slant. It's like saying, "Hey, way to let Saha go a few years back" or "See, we should signed Carrick when he was cheaper and living down the street"-

WTF? ease off and move on. Besides, last summer we were all cheering the signing of Smith - that's how low things were. Let's see what he does under Keegan's reign. Fair enough?

Has he single handedly dragged them up to 6th like?

Course he hasn't, just strange that a manager famed for players' fitness saw fit to get rid of a player after 2 days who has gone to play almost every game in La Liga.
