Guest Stephen927
Was never going to last in the job, even if they had won the Champions League. If they have sacked him because he lost the CL Final, then it's harsh to say the least. So they signed Bosingwa for stupid money, without their new manager, assuming Grant was going to go anyways. Robster
Another pathetic decision from the chelsea board. smacks of ranieri again, but then look what happened after he left. just like at man city you would have to be insane to walk in there, money always talks though. Maybe mancini can sell up his newcastle home and settle in london. WTF??? who the hell is Avram Grant??!!.he was the manager of Chelsea just because he is a good friend of Roman and not because professional reason Shouldnt hired as Chelsea manager at all Therefore its his boss who seriously needs to look at himself but of course it couldnt be his fault could it

Dave
If John Terry could convert a penalty he'd still have a job. FACT! Damn rain! Didn't see anyone else unable to deal with the condition of the pitch. Loads of them did during the match tbf.

Guest Stephen927
Ivanovic hasn't even made an appearance for them has he? Correct. Hasn't been matchfit apparently, and would have a hard job displacing Terry and Carvalho anyways.

OzzieMandias
Don't Rijkaard and Ten Cate have history from Barca? I'd love it if Mourinho came back. Closet Chelsea fan tbh

OzzieMandias
It's a shame, really, that they didn't feel they had to stick with Grant, as I don't think he'd be the ideal manager for the rebuilding job Chelsea now have to do.

Also think Terry has got too much sympathy for missing this pen, he clearly didn't give it any thought, similar to when Beckham blazed that one miles over against Turkey. I can understand people slipping during a game, when they have to react to situations and change direction quickly, but it's barely acceptable when they've got complete control of the situation and how to approach the ball. I reckon he was just thinking about it too much, to stop himself from falling or messing it up. It's like when you're drunk and you over concentrate on how you walk and you end up going all over the place.
Dave
I'm sure Martin Tyler said during the match that Terry had brought something daft like 14 pairs of boots with him too.

Sad to see someone who did a good job get sacked but thats football these days, ruthless as fuck. As for who will replace him, my guess is Mancini.............. who will fail miserabley. Guest
Just a question really to anyone who says you can't be a big or successful club without trophies. This season, who has been better, Chelsea, or Portsmouth & Spurs? Fact is, just like us in 1995-7, take away Man Utd and no-one else has been better. S.S.R.
Avram Grant was four goals away from doing the treble.

Yet I bet a good number of their fans, would swap seasons, if they were being honest, certainly Spurs fans. Maybes that says more about the modern game mind.
