UV
I didn't know Colonel Tigh used to be our chairman. /geek To Rangers goes our deepest sympathy for having such a mob follow you round to matches is like a monumental millstone round the neck. They can't shake it off and the people concerned may yet have this famous Scottish club banned from European competitions. It is a terrible predicament and we sincerely hope that Rangers can find some way of solving the problem in the very near future. Some things never change. manorpark
Happy Days - watching them win a major trophy, and the European Fairs Cup was far stronger then, than the UEFA Cup is now - with only one team going into the European Cup from the league, rather than four. Then, at the Airport, watching them carrying the trophy through and back into the City Centre, to SJP. NEVER thought that would be the last time we would win a trophy for 39 years!!! OzzieMandias
Scared the shit out of my dad, that pitch invasion. The 12-year-old me found it quite exciting when the whole place erupted, but my old man never went to another match after that one.

Rich
So two generations of our support have never seen a trophy, then. Very depressing fact. Could be worse though... could be 3 generations if we were Sunderland.

Could be worse though... could be 3 generations if we were Sunderland. They won the FA Cup 4 years after we won the Fairs Cup.

It was a daft insinuation that Mackems all have kids when they're 12... so if we were Sunderland then it would be THREE generations of our support since '69, not just TWO. Rich
I'm fully aware of the fact that they've won stuff more recently than us, I never fucking hear the end of it man!

It was a daft insinuation that Mackems all have kids when they're 12... so if we were Sunderland then it would be THREE generations of our support since '69, not just TWO. Whatever. Rich
Actually, thinking about it, the joke works either way. Since '73 just means that Mackems all have kids when they're 11. Even more accurate, in fact. It stands either way.
