I could well see him selling tbh.

Yes he maybe has been using the "INVESTOR" bollocks as a smokescreen to sell the club

The guy is cheap and tacky just like his stores   :laugh2:

you're not allowed to say that. He's the knight in shining armour and no way will he bugger off with the money like the last lot, including all the increased sky money that hasn't been invested in transfers etc.

He's even got the gall to wack the amount owed for the stadium expansion that he paid off, that we all thought was a Xmas present, onto the asking price.

What asking price?

Is this official, has it been in the classified ads in the Chronicle? What a clown you are, man.

I'm a clown am I  mackems.gif

Believe whatever suits you Wullie lad, believe whatever suits you ...........

You think Ashley will turn down an offer to get his money back and make a decent profit on what he's shelled out ? He's been setting up the club for a potential sale IMO. Get a life.

Where have you seen the official asking price?

Answer without referring to the "cockney-based media" you hate (even though you believe every letter they print).

basically, I think you're one of the pointless people, so no, I can't be arsed.

He's bought the club so he can spend over a year setting it up to get his money back, or maybe a decent profit?  :idiot2:  He could make a decent profit with no effort by putting the same money in a low risk investment.

He names himself the spokesperson for a NUFC fan's association. Why can't you tell me what he does in that role?

no, I don't think that is the case at all. Like Mark Jensen, people from the press ring him because they know he's a fan of the club, they have his details and they know he makes himself available for this sort of comment.

A bit like when a couple of people associated with this site were involved in discussions with Mort - but thats different I suppose ?

If you look at his comment, he is saying that he thinks and he's entitled to his opinion, which I agree with as it happens.

So what does he DO? Mark Jensen is a fanzine editor.

Quit with the diversionary bullshit (again).

He's bought the club so he can spend over a year setting it up to get his money back, or maybe a small profit?.. your a fucking idiot!  :idiot2:

Well, I think you're a fucking idiot too mate if you think that the prospect of making a quick killing or 10 or 20 million quid for a years work would be out of the question. Especially if he bought the club without paying due diligence  :coolsmiley: and also has not liked the world of football as much as he thought he might.

But again, if you are the same guy who harped on about bloody Luque for ages .........I already knew.

So far as I can see, he's not speaking for anybody but himself, so I don't see the problem, apart from people overreacting.

I think its more to do with the fact that he is perhaps being seen as a 'voice of the fans' as it were.

I'd say if you were looking to make a quick killing, the first thing you'd do is due diligence tbh. Otherwise how would you know there weren't a load of hidden nasties behind the scenes? Makes no sense to me, please explain, financial bods.

Of course its the case, you saying he doesn't claim to be the chairman of the Newcastle United Independent Supporters’ Association?..  I suppose the papers make that up and he just doesn't correct them the next time he spouts his simple minded drivel?

the first thing Ashley would have done is hire a forensic accountant to go through the club, there's nowhere a businessman of his stature wouldn't have done that anyway tbh. Especially if he was just looking to make short-term profit.

here is the quote.

“It’s high time he spoke out to clarify the situation,” said Frank Gilmour, chairman of the Newcastle United Independent Supporters’ Association.

“If he wants to stay and turn Newcastle into a successful club then that’s great and he should come out and say something sooner rather than later. The same applies if he has decided he wants to sell up.”

He added: “I’d like to see the uncertainty removed. My main concern is if he is going to sell the club, that it ends up in the hands of people who are determined to turn us into a successful club.”

You're big on quotes on this site aren't you ? You show me where he says anything like "the fans think".......he's been asked his opinion, and he's gave it.

He actually says I'd like to see

Sorry Dave, but you and the others are overreacting here about nothing.

So tell us how we join this great supporters club that is representing our interests. I'd like to vote for a less moronic dirt-disher than this sad "Frank Gilmore" character.

Its a shame you don't probe comments by people you agree with like this, especially those who childishly edit other peoples posts when they reply.

I'm talking about the site in general, you know as well as I do that people are always pointing out there is a lack of quotes when it suits them.........well, on this occasion, there is a direct quote.

Its not up to me, you or anyone else, to cast doubt on someone else's quotes. He was asked his opinion, and he gave it . He clearly stated that he was speaking for himself too. The only real problem here, is because you and others don't like it or agree with him, isn't it ?
