McGrath is the most naturally talented footballer I've ever seen play with any regularity (nb - I use the term naturally talented for a reason). He was just awesome

Woodgate is the best defender Ive ever seen play for us, but nowadays I'd choose Colo. But if this was 2003 id say Woodgate by a country mile.

Woodgate was a better defender at his peak than anyone I have seen in 28 years in a black and white shirt (ah sh*t, just dawned on me I'm getting old!) - if both players were fit and in peak form, Colo couldn't hold a candle to Woodgate.

 

But as many others have said, not much use if he isn't on the pitch.
