This new system of ours

Recommended Posts

it's quite worrying the number of drama queens on this board. this mentality that they simply cannot move the f*** on and support the club regardless is probably one of the main elements holding us back as a club. there is no doubting how much we all love it. but for f***'s sake, get a grip and stop fixating on individuals.

in supporting NUFC at least you all know we're always in for a roller coaster ride. get on board and enjoy it. and one day......one day....it'll be our turn and the world will be ours

No, the problem with us is that there too many people who accept this media invented rollercoaster ride. Shepherd went on to long because WE failed to do anything about it. This lot will do the same, unless WE do something about it.

i was speaking to a mackem at work today and he came up with the point that had wise been the manager and keegan the DoF people would still have backed keegan and had they brought in robinho and kaka behind his back he'd have said nowt.

Understand that it was your mate, but what he said is a complete waste of breath.

i'm not so sure, not so sure at all.

But none of this happened, so what was the point again?

I think it's a fairly obvious one that it's less about the "system" and more about the personalities involved. Whether it's valid is another question.

You know I spent ages trying to word a reply to that because in essence I know what he is trying to say but its such a ridiculously hypothetical scenario, its pointless arguing over.

Because of course it would never have kicked of had he brought in Wise to be Manager over Keegans head !

The way they have lied to the fans isn't wrong because they were lying, but because of the way it was lied?

The lying has nothing to do with the system if I'm right in thinking HTT is on about the DOF, if he's not then I've picked it up wrong.

oh dear

It is a fact that this system has made us the laughing stock of world football

It is a fact that this system has turned our beloved club into a circus

That's no fact. We were well on our way when we appointed Souness and then Roeder.

Fact.

One of the benefits of the system is that you get some continuity even if you change the coach. We are not going to get a new coach who wants to start all over again but one who agrees that Xisco and gang are the future and that 2009's task is to replace Duff, Smith, Butt, Viduka, Shola and probably Owen.

In my view the problem wasn't the system but the personell we had in the various posts. Someone had to go and they did. Move on. Young, tactical coach for me; Deschamps, Toral or Poyet

This is true. However one of the numerous downfalls of the system is that if the root cause of a team's failings is not the coach but the players being brought into the club, then it takes much longer to address the problem as the club will inevitably go through a number of coaches before realising it. The person we have in charge of the system at our club has no track record or even experience at the job. If he is no good at the job it may take 5 or more years before the people at the top start to realise it.
