Guest Brewcastle
He was really selfish at times today, instead of passing the ball the one of our player he kept trying to take on 3 or 4 of their players, his end product was awfull, really needs to get his act togther. Agree with his end product is awfull. But many times he hadn't any other choice than to be selfish. To often it was no players in position in - or in front - the box. Fat lazy Harewood isn't abel to move before he have the ball in front of his feet.

M4
One of our most important players. That's what everyone keeps holding on to, but how exactly? He's far from vital and has only seemed to be of real use in (part of) a handful of games. Rest of the time just a frustrating waste of time. He certainly isn't the reason we are top. nobby_solano
yup, which is the reason we should have someone up top with a bit of pace to exploit the space created by the defenders going to jonas

Lotus
He has ability to carry the ball from our half to the oppostions, the ONLY player we have who can do this. He doesn't do much with the ball, granted. However he keeps the oppostion weary and makes them stand off a bit. He's a bit like a jab imo Can't hurt you much but keeps you over there while the right hand lines you up. A few fans on here need to get real, i bet they're the same ones who used to lambast Dyer for the same reasons as Jonas (Dyer was a better player, i'll give you). Every other team in this division would want Jonas in their squad, i guarantee it. We're scoring enough goals to win games and Raylor, Guthrie and Barton (when on the pitch) can play a good ball in. Enrique can also whip in a good cross, what Jonas does is create a bit of space. If we sell him to Roma in January we'll likely up end with someone like Gary F**king Teale on the wing then you'll have a proper f**king reason to grumble. People are judging our players against the 2001-2003 team. Thats a looooooong time ago now.

Guest steppa
Thought he was a great outlet last night. Was a fairly comfortable last 10-15 minutes and his ball carrying was instrumental. His finishing is dogsh!t though!
MKSC
The other thing to consider with Jonas is the understanding he has with Enrique. They look comfortable together and it sometimes looks like Jose is the only player that Jonas wants to pass the ball to. Betweeen the two of them they give us a great left side. Granted the end product is usually a huge let down but he will normally find one good ball a game. He also draws his fair share of free-kicks and throw-ins in the opposition half. Although I agree he was mostly shocking last night, the thing that impressed me was in the last 10 when we were under pressure, if the ball dropped to him he was confident and comfortable enough to carry it 40 yards out of danger, a couple of times winning us a throw near the half way line. The rest of the players were just humping it straight back to PNE defenders to start another attack. Can't see us replacing him with anybody better at this stage. Jayson
One of our most important players. That's what everyone keeps holding on to, but how exactly? He's far from vital and has only seemed to be of real use in (part of) a handful of games. Rest of the time just a frustrating waste of time. He certainly isn't the reason we are top. But thats not based on much is it. For all you know all the times jonas carried it out of our area could have resulted in them keeping possession and actually creating & scoring a chance. Any player that drives us fowards is have a beneficial effect. He was far more useful than Guthrie & Nolan for the majority of the game yesterday. Those two just produced in the key moment. It may not have been enough without Jonas carrying the majority of our attack for the main portion of the game. All jonas did wrong yesterday was miss two absolute sitters. Thats it. All the waffling about him being selfish or unable to provide is based on nothing but nonsense.

merlin
He's the same old, same old.....Looks good until the final third, then messes it all up. You can see why he hasn't got many goals in his career. What is worse is that he doesn't create any danger where it matters - in the box. Looks great while carrying the ball from half-way line or further back, but flatters to deceive. Yes, works well with Enrique, but that's mainly down to Jose - give Enrique another winger and he'd still work well with them. Jonas will never be a major threat - he's what the Scots used to call a 'Tanner Ba' player'...

I think this might be to do with the fact that he needs to play a lot deeper for us because of our general lack of attacking flair. If he played for a club with some other decent players, he might have the freedom to collect the ball further up the pitch.

We need to buy a replacement next season but I have a feeling left wingers with pace and good end product aren't cheap or easy to find. A punt on a promising younger player might be the best option. MW
He needs to work very hard in training to work on his final ball. He's right up there even in the Prem for going past players and is going past teams with complete ease in this league, if he could sort himself out in the final third he'd be class
Cajun
When he can be arsed he is amazing at tracking back, winning the ball and carrying it a long way but he tends to lose it anyway so the ball ends up back with the opposition. The fact players like Ryan Taylor, Nolan and Smith have been doing a far more effective job than him says a lot. He only really has one attribute and unlike those above it doesn't help the team all that much. Unless Pancrate can play on the left, at the moment there is no-one better than him on that wing at the moment so he is first choice out of lack of anything else. Are you saying that if Pancrate can play on the left then he is a better choice than Jonas after one reserve game and a career that has disintegrated so horrendously that he has signed for NUFC post relegation? Who gave you this prepostrous hypothesis, was it steve perchance? Mmmmmm Steve!

JH
He'll always be far too greedy for my liking. Can't remember the last time he made a pass when he should have as opposed to running an extra 50 yards or going round 12 men first.
