So who's going to buy the club?

I would love for us to go for Dick Advocaat, currently the coach of Zenit. They've got five games left of their season and it looks like they might be knocked out of the Champions League without even going to the UEFA cup. Could be a perfect opportunity to try and get him in.

HATCHET MAN: Only Ashley can steady Newcastle's sinking ship - but he better hurry up

Last updated at 11:41 AM on 28th October 2008

Mike Ashley promised he would sell Newcastle in a matter of days and nearly six weeks later there's no sign of a new owner.

The only thing that's happened in the meantime is the team have slipped deeper into trouble at the foot of the table.

Joe Kinnear has talked up some stability but still has only two points from three games in charge.

And it's only the draw and a win gained by Kevin Keegan that's keeping Newcastle off the foot of the pile.

Meanwhile the club is in limbo and won't be getting ready to identify new signings in the January window.

Ashley ought to talk to David Gold at Birmingham about what happens if you let takeover talk drag on too long. You end up getting relegated.

It's time for the owner to face the fact he's not selling, tough it out by taking command again, and giving the Toon some stability.

He needs to face up to the angry fans and show he's got the courage to run the club his way – or  realise he'll still be trying to sell a Championship team next summer.

Well I agree he has to make sure we don't go down obviously, he'll lose hundreds of millions otherwise, but the answer to that (if we're still in trouble which I don't believe we will be) is to make funds available in January.  The idea that he should give up on selling and tough it out is not only completely premature but ultimately wouldn't help the situation IMO.

Guest sicko2ndbest

so going by that due dilligence has not been done.

If the press were doing their jobs properly they would have picked up on Kinnears NUFCTV interview. They havnt therefore they know less than us.

JK has been told due diligence has been done and they are talking with interested parties this week

If he can't find a buyer then the fans will have a big part to play in the rest of our season.
