No, the answer is obvious.

Well done to the lads with the banners for doing something positive in response to the mess the club is in. As the saying goes sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind to save the thing you care about from far greater pain, and this is one of those times. It’s those impersonating the three monkies who are making supporters look stupid. They’re well intentioned but missing the big picture, don’t judge them to harshly.

What positive things would happen if it never showed up again?

Is that an answer like? Because it doesn't look like one.

The people with banners represent themselves, but their views are shared by many loyal and committed supporters. If these banners disappeared the match goers who are very keen for Ashley to sell up at the first opportunity would get their message across by chanting things like ‘Ashley Out‘ and ‘There’s only one Kevin Keegan' which I‘m sure you’d insist would upset the players and increase the chances of us losing by more goals.

Have you ever considered the idea the players might be quite keen to see the back of Ashley as well?

Exactly, theyd understand the animosity towards ashley.

Theres a difference between that & booing a player because he's not playing well/isnt a good player. Thats obviously going to have a negative effect. Any banners or chanting against the regime is different, and wouldnt.

And the players have frequently let it be known they have no idea what is going on either, and all that stuff about Ashley putting the whole squad up for sale can’t have gone down too well in the dressing room.

Does anyone know what happened with Keith Barratt? I think he was in court again yesterday about the thing that happened at Hull.

Hey, then maybe they'll all agree to reduce their wages so we've got some spending money for reinforcements!

That might be a tiny bit arguable, but even so we are creating a generally hostile and negative atmosphere that must rub off on the players.

It's not like we clearly slag off Ashley for 5 minutes then go back to wholeheartedly backing the team.

I suspect supporters with banners cheer the lads on as loudly as anyone, but your point is valid. The atmosphere at SJP this season has an undercurrent of despair and angerthat could cost us our PL status.

As far as I'm aware he's either been referred to or has asked to be tried at Crown Court.

I would think if it's true then he's requested it as the original crime doesn't usually end up in Crown Court.

it would appear its on show at todays game

Yes as it will be at every game

In light of the level of this week's news, will you still be bringing this banner along?

If so, will you also bring along one to explain that it's got nothing to do with the majority of fans?

No, but Im not claiming to know what they think.

And yet you're happy enough for the banner to be displayed which, whether you like it or not, makes it look like all Newcastle fans share the same views.

You would think he'd start to catch on when he's actually pressing the keys and watching the words form on the screen...

When you see a bloke at Wimbledon with one of those  John 3:16 banners do you assume the crowd is jammed packed with god-squaders?
